Pipe Recomendations

SWIM is new to DMT. He/She needs recommendations for pipes and vaporizers because this person is very inexperienced with smoking drugs and ignorant about pipes and vaporizers.

Assuming Swim has already found some extracted goodies, Swim might want to begin by putting a bit of carrier material (pot-tobacco-mint leaf-parsley-whatever) in a small pipe / sprinkling your DMT upon the carrier, adding a bit more carrier material on the top, and then toke away.... The reason for trying it this way is that the carrier material will protect the DMT from direct contact with flame, as well as allowing Swim to possibly "ease" ones way into the DMT experience a bit at a time / toke by toke as it were...........

on swims first experiment he loaded the pipe with too much carrier material, this resulted in much of the spice running to the bottom of the pipe which in turn meant taking too long to smoke all the dmt which as swim now knows is not the best way to get the maximum out of the spice.

swim believes that some trial and error is a necessity until swim finds the method that suits best

SWIM would suggest also possibly packing it into a much smaller device, such as a small chillum or a battie. He likes to use a small amount of carrier material, but only about one hits worth.

Meth pipe is the way to go. Swim has tried both the weed pipe with the DMT sprinkled on mint leaf (least effective) as well as the lightbulb (can be effective, but not nearly as easy as a meth pipe). Something with a fairly large chamber is good, because you can take a big toke, cover the inhalator with your finger then breath up the rest of the smoke.

So many people struggle their first time, then get dissapointed with a light bulb, its well worth the little amount of money a free base pipe costs.



Swim uses something like the two on the top. Put a fine screen over the chamber, slowly apply the flame to the product (put more than enough in), keep it on there for about 15 seconds. Smoke won't come out until you inhale, but when you do make sure the flame stays on, inhale and watch it explode into smoke. Breath in as much as you can, holding it, bring the flame back to the product and breath in again. Make sure to keep your finger over the inhaler when not in your mouth, finally keep the flame up to the chamber where the smoke is to keep it from condensing, when you're ready for your third and final hit breath in the remaining smoke. Guaranteed should be good enough for a full open-eyed trip.

Our cult uses a custom made glass piece, but you best know your blower well, as most of them won't make "crack pipes". The advantage to the custom piece is the thickness, especially given the amount of heat applied.

We recently employed a hurricane glass from an oil lamp for the purpose, while difficult to hold (even with the two man team we always use) the wide aperture allowed for a much faster inhalation. I do NOT recommend using the lamp as your source of flame. We did that once with our main sacramental dispenser and while it seemed to do nothing, had in fact been so hot as to result in a clear vapor that we were not at all ready to deal with, and a consequent waste of materials.

For shear power, use an oil or meth pipe...easiest way to dose.

SWIM uses something similar to the pic in post 4 only with a base like the picture in post 8. This allows him to fill the chamber and get a good 40mg blast in one toke.

Some of his friends say that the smoke is too harsh and burns their lungs when using this setup... They use a dry bong with blue lotus/spice/more blue lotus....and have had good success with that.

It's really a matter of personal taste and what one is comfortable with.

Swim also has some questions regarding this.. she has had freebase dmt from a reputable source for about 6 months now but has not felt up to it as she's been dealing with some minor health issues, and also has been apprehensive about the proper smoking methods. Swim has heard some say that a filler material is advised, and some say it isn't. She wants to experience dmt without any added influence, so if she were to use a filler it would have to be an inert one. She also wants to minimize the harshness/lung damage of the smoke, but not a huge concern since this is not a daily or even regular undertaking, and she does not smoke cigs ever, or smoke marijuana all too often. Many swiys here are recommending what is described as an oil/meth pipe. Now, pardon swim for seeming ignorant, but she's had her share of smoking experiences- weed every which way, salvia, even crack cocaine and freebase coke "foilies," and has in addition known glass blowers and visited head shops, but she does not recall ever being around such a device or seeing it offered for sale. I know that here that rule with glass pieces/bongs is that they must be sold "for tobacco use only" which often involves placing a small bead over the carb which is easily removed.. but are these "meth pipes" illegal to buy/sell/possess? Where (in general) would one go about obtaining them in the US? Are they they same as so-called "hash pipes" (which I've also never used or encountered, but have heard of..) Thanks for any input! Swim is looking forward to her first experience. Also, any input on first dose? The source who gave it to swim separated it into three packets which he said were each one good dose, swim believes the number he cited was somewheres around 35-50 mg, but being awhile back she can't be sure. Swim could always re-weigh it, just to be safe. Thanks again!!

Speaking of Vaporizers, SWIM was wondering about the use of DMT salt water with a nebulizer.

SWIM read about nebulizers on an Erowid Experience report. SWIM wonders if this method would be much easier on the lungs and cause less pain.

SWIM doesn't think that using a vaporizer with DMT will work. If SWIY is smoking DMT and the DMT reaches a temperature below its melting point it will recrystalize on the side of the vaporizer and waste valuable product.

SWIM has had good success with a base pipe, but plans to try adding some herb into the mix to protect the vulnerable DMT from the unwanted contact of direct flame.

SWIM has also found pipes that have a long, hollow shaft with a kind of tear drop made of class at the end. This tear drop at the end helps to keep the DMT in one spot as SWIM has had his DMT literally run away from his flame.

Someone in another thread recommended the test tube pipe to SWIM, seems very convenient. It's be easy to dip it in boiling water at first (to heat up the pipe)...maybe even in the oven (might need pyrex for that....pyrex test tube wtf?).

Concentrates all the material in one spot really well. SWIM is still anxious to try it. And since swim would be a complete newbie to trying it, he has an idea for recovering DMT that re-crystalizes......Why not swirl some naphtha in the tube? and then evaporate it? would take half an hour at most to get all swiy's crystals back.

SWIM has gotten the best results from an empty bubbler, with the bowl set up in this manner starting at the bottom: screen, some sort of plant material to catch the gooey liquid melted DMT(most do not like weed as it taints the high but this is what swim usually uses), the DMT, then another screen.

He then uses a regular bic lighter and pulls long and slow, minding the flame shouldnt be pulled through the top screen but up to it. It usually takes him 2 or 3 hits this way to break through.

This method has worked better than a homemade lightbulb vaporizer and a basic straight freebase pipe. The vapor was least harsh and oh so good tasting this way.

SWIM used a glass spoon pipe with a somewhat large chamber for smoke, fill with good ashes, then load a sprinkle or few peices (depending if your dmt has melted or not hehe) on top and keep flame not directly on it, but above it enough to vaporise it. The lightb ulb method is ok for small hits or doses, but it gets very hot, sometimes hard to load or clean etc...
