SWIM is curious why do SWIY use cocaine - whether its based on every day use, every weekend - once a month, or a full blown-addiction.

It has been said to swim that users of this substance are always chasing the feeling they get off the first line, but in turn they never can achieve that feeling.

As oddly as this will sound to everyone, SWIM does it to call down and enjoy the bliss of serenity it hands to him with its gentle touch.

It calms his mind and allows him to see everything clearly for once, then when he realizes he can control his mood he chooses to be serene and peaceful. It's very nice, if he does enough of it, he can actually get something resembling a psychadelic state.

SWIM uses cocaine mainly when he's bored, as in, he has no plans, nothing interesting or fun planned. A gram or two, a pack of smokes or four, a friend maybe, and a few packs of needles makes for a quite fun night if you have no other plans.

Back during the summer, SWIM would need to use cocaine every day, doing only a couple of lines each day. He just couldn't go a day without thinking about it.
Nowadays though, SWIM only uses about once or twice a week, but each time he does, he does a long session that lasts all night. Then he doesn't touch it for a few days, then he buys another gram for some more fun.

SWIM does coke on a regular basis, and i mean during shopping, driving, going to family dinners, and its party of his daily life. what SWIM really needs to do is keep himself busy such as having a girlfriend, work or school. doing coke while having days of boredom simply means that he needs help and has to figure his way out of the hole. SWIM needs his mind to be occupied to keep his mind of coke, because thats what the drug does...it keeps you in its control...SWIM needs to cut down by doing it just at parties, or maybe only on fridays, something like that...

Because SWIM enjoys the high very much - indulges quite often - probably a little too much - SWIM needs to slow down but it's hard - too much fun and SWIM's too weak - low self-control.

im sort of doing my own little research project about drugs and the whole drug culture pretty much for shits and giggles. i know most people have a certain drug of choice and for some its cocaine. i was just wondering why. why cocaine. dont tell me because of the addiction, i know its addictive i want the answer to be more detailed. i want to know what draws people to it, what makes it so much better than other drugs etc. SWIM has had pleanty of experiences with hallucinogens, weed, opiets and mdma but has only done coke twice and hated it. so i was just interested in knowing why and how cocaine gets to be someones drug of choce.

probably the activation of dopamine neurotransmitters gives a grand sense of euphoria...in some users. SWIM has yet to experience said sensations.

Pleasure and addiction are very close to begin with.

To break it down cocaine is so addictive BECAUSE the fact it provides so much pleasure... its that part of coke alone that makes it so addictive. People get addicted to the pleasure of the drug.

U need to understand pychological addiction more i think.

I'm curious as to why you feel either have to be had in a social situation? Well, ok, they both have a social aspect attached to them, but you can enjoy yourself with people whilst being sober. I've been around people before whilst sober and enjoyed their company, be they high or not. I think it's about personal perspective and weither you feel the need to partake.

SWIM is only interested in using cocaine because they are curious about the sensations of it, whilst not having a prolonged high, thus reducing the chance to f**k up, like on other narcotics.

people get addicted to sex for percisely the same reasons they get addicted to cocaine i.e. dopamine, we are hardwired to do things that secrete dopamine, and are thus pleasurable.

problem is sex has closure, you have an orgasm, feel content, fall to sleep, relaxes muscle etc. Cocaine has no closure, as someone wiser said in the forums "one line is one too many, a million just aint enough"

SWIM simply finds that it goes nicely with alcohol, he likes alcohol and sometimes likes alcohol with cocaine even more. In addition it is a social drug in that many people SWIM knows also use cocaine (as with alcohol in fact)
