SWIM is about to take 'bout 5 'er six and would like to know a little more about this new pharmacuetical amp - mainly if it can give a good to decent buzz like other amps.

Vyvanse was made to help prevent people from abusing it. It is not turned into an active amphetamine until it reaches SWIY intestines. People have stated that it gives a high comparable to dexedrine spanules, but they prefer the dexedrine way more.

It definetely offers a good deal of euphoria. The duration of effects is ridiculously long... SWIM was feeling it to some extent 28 hours later. And that was off of about 30 mg worth from a 70 mg gelcap.

The stuff is potent, the bioavailability is ridiculous compared to other stimulants. SWIM's other friend SWIM has been taking prescription stimulants for years, and needs to take three or four times the normal dose for a good buzz if he wants it. His doctor switching him to Vyvanse, 70 mg pills. He took one and was tweaking out pretty good, so starting low might be advisable.

The only crappy thing is onset takes awhile, though SWIM doesn't remember exactly how long.

WOW! SWIM felt a euphoria making him feel useless with absolutely no focus at all - almost like a psychadelic or something (he took about 30 x 70mg capsules)!!


he saw the movie "alpha dog" and felt connected to everything in the movie and noticed he can feel emotions and stuff about the movie as it goes on



the last 15-20 minutes of the movie made him cry though....gay

SWIM is going to the doctor tomorrow to acquire a 30 day supply of 70mg caps of vyvanse. I know all about how the drug works etc... My question is if SWIM takes, say 700mg of the drug, even tho the drug is time-released, will it cop him a buzz? Can the liver hydrolyzie that much at once or is this not possible?

While swim isn't aware of what the metabolic threshold of lisdexamfetamine is, swim can tell you that Vyvanse's bioavailibility is higher than those of adderall and even pure dextroamphetamine, and thats where it's at. The bioavailibility of dex in metabolized Vyvanse is somewhere around 70% compared to normal dex which is 50-60%. Swiy's body is being exposed to more metabolized dex than pure dex itself due to acid absorbsion inhibition from your stomach. Now, if swiy takes tums with a dosage of normal dex swim thinks the bioavilibility goes up to about 10% higher (someone correct me on these numbers, for these are rough estimates off the top of swim's head from many articles swim has read). But bottom line is if swiy isn't well tolerated to amphetamines in general, this will certainly give swiy more than a buzz. Swiy should start at a safe starting point and adjust accordingly. It will take longer to get there but when swiy does, swiy will know.

Ok swim was spelling this differently and so her searches didn't turn up anything and she started a new thread a few weeks back.. perhaps these can be combined by a mod if they see fit? There are still not many threads on this substance, which is d-amphetamine combined with l-lysine as a "prodrug," but many of the older ones seem to have lots of questions and speculation and very little factual advice. Swim is no expert, but looked up a bit of info for her post, as well as posting an experience report. So she will link this post here for people to read. Perhaps the poster meant to type 3x and not 30?? Please, no one take 30 of these. They come in 30, 50, and 70mg, and are meant to be taken usually once a day mainly for children with ADHD although off-label prescribing does occur with adults. Swim's first experience with this substance was 2x 30mg= 60mg, and another 30mg (total 90mg throughout the day/evening) and she felt it quite strongly. She takes modafinil daily, and methylphenidate 5-10mg occasionally (usually one or two days per week, depending) for managing excessive sleepiness associated with a fairly well known sleep disorder. So.. if someone has a high amphetamine tolerance, they may need more. But either way, someone pointed out the bioavailability of this is quite high orally, so please start low, one or two of the lower doses 30-50 mg, or maybe one of the higher 70mg and guage swiy's response.. again, swim uses amphetamines in low doses as prescribed, and occasionally substitutes her meager prescription with other amps when she is out and still needs to stay awake to drive or go to class.. so yes she has a tolerance but not a huge one as she always uses therapeutic doses and mainly orally rather than snorting or injecting. So, point being, 90mg was quite strong, she'd say comparable to taking 30-60mg Adderall capsules orally. She is quite interested to find out exactly how dosing works with this thing. I mean, the pill increments can be telling- 30, 50, and 70mg are likely typical doses.. and one study stated that these doses of lizdexamfetamine were equally effective at managing adhd symptoms as similar doses of Adderall in a study of children.. but another seemed to imply that a higher dose of this drug equaled a lower dose of other drugs in its class.. swim's no expert on amphetamine dosing or potency, but would be interested to know how this all balances out- whether the "30" "50" or "70" mg means mg of d-amphetamine, as in most other amp meds, or whether the l-lysine is inlcuded, and if so what the ratio is? And if bioavailability differs, what quantitative/numerical influence does this have on dosing conversion and equivalence? Anywho, will post link to swim's experience report and copy/pasted article describing the basics of this substance- mods feel free to combine if you feel it appropriate- sorry for overlooking this.

Interesting fact about Vyvanse. This also applies to the other amphetamine adhd meds (Desoxyn, dexedrine, dextrostat, etc.) as well as methylphenidate. If you have any food/drink with caffeine in it within (before/after) an hour or 2 of you taking the drug, the medicine won't work as well.
This might be different for getting a rush though.
