Effexor (Venlafaxine), not a nice but E like mashed.

SWIM suffers from nighttime anxiety and has been prescribed and taking xanax for it, but today swim needed a refil and couldent see his normal doc. The substitute doc gave him his xanax and also prescribed efexor 75mg and told swim to take one cap everyday.

After getting home and doing a whole lot of reading up on efexor on Erowid swim will definatly not be taking the efexor(read quite a few horror story's with withdrawal symptoms not unlike a bad heroin habit withdraw) but decided to try one and see how he felt.

Now if SOTIU has ever had a good ecstasy pill they would know the feeling they get in the jaw, sort of like a yawning type feeling, about four hours after taking the efexor swim got hit with this feeling stronger than any other E pill he has had in the past but thats about it, SWIM was definitely mashed but not in a good way... these things are alittle simmilar to E but theres nothing really nice about them... really just made SWIM feel disconnected and took all the energy out of his mind if that makes any sence. SWIM definitely couldent take these everyday.

SWIM has read that they are supposed to work better after about 14 days but also after 14 days ive also read that your pretty much addicted.

Swim just had to vent this what have other thought of efexor?

Re: Efexor, not a nice but E like mashed.

1) Please use the pharmaceutical/generic name rather then the brand name when posting: This will avoid confusion on this international forum. Effexor is Venlafaxine.

2) Post in the right forum. Venlafaxine is an SNRI (Selective Noradrenaline (and Serotonin, to a lesser extent) Reuptake Inhibitor. It therefore belongs in Antidepressants, NOT Downers and Sleepers.

Thank you. MOVED

Yea seriously at the time swim was writing the original post on the efexor he was seriously in a shitty place, feeling alot better now that its leaving his system. I really don't know how ppl can take that crap and how doctors can hand it out like candy.

good choice not taking the effexor.. i was prescribed it and it was NOT worth the withdrawl.. i was horribly sick and holed up in bed for days, dizzy, and nauseous, i couldnt even eat.

Oh shit swim was given venlafaxine hydro.. 75mg by his doc today together with zopiclone 3.75 he will try it and write down his experiance. He takes what he reads very serius but hes got a good relation with his doc and will give it a go. He is also on tramadol and had a chat wis his doc and his doc is happy to keep swim on his tramadol so swim is happy, Swim will give velafaxine a try but will probably stop it and stay with tramadol and zopiclone.

Tramadol has SSRI properties, therefore there is a risk of serotonin syndrome if combining with other serotonergic drugs (ie: Venlafaxine)

Re: Effexor (Venlafaxine), not a nice but E like mashed.

The combination of 30mg of zopiclone and alcohol should be a no brainer:

2 depressants = additive CNS depression.

Think increased amnesia, possible oversedation, worse case scenario: Reduced repiratory effort, coma, and inability to protect one's airway.

Does your marmoset fancy choking on their own vomit?

Ya deffenitly i got fucked over by cobining shit like this all last year. But ya stay clear of alcahol not a good mistake (can also cause seizures. i think this is only in ssris thou) but ya SWIM mixed chemicles and antidepressents/other similar types of drugs almost constantly once your body finnaly gives up all SWIM had to do was watch SWIM die. >isten to what these people have to say about ssris they know what they are talking about but SWIMS lucky to be alive! ya if you can stay away from the alchahol then you get SWIMS respect 150%

Re: Effexor (Venlafaxine), not a nice but E like mashed.

Thanks swim had some sleep and is feeling not as annoyed anymore. Swim will stay away from alcohol for a while (might do him good) Its stupid here in the UK swim told the right things to his doc to get diazepam or any other benzo but he got venlafaxine.

And no!! No one wants to chock on the own vomit.
Thanks for the info.
