Crushing codeine

hmmmm... when SWIM tries said method above, he gets little holes in the baggie from sharp pieces of the pill and he always gets powder leakage. This it with a flat, heavy rounded object being used to crush to. Guess SWIM is just unlucky

SWIM used to put them in the water whole, then crush them in there by poking around with a spoon. Now SWIM bought a mortar and pestle, which makes the job much easier.

...use a flat btm glass and a flat glass dinner plate...lay 2 or 3 pills on plate and twist btm of glass while pressing down on tablets...always works fine for SWIM...

I heard Somebody on here say that they just put the pills into an empty pill bottle then break them up as best as possible, but then add the correct amount of water then just shake the shit out of it until its just mixed.. Not very scientific, but morelike something Swim would try. !

Does nobody else find that powdered pills are hard to mix with water? Noddy finds that it tends to foam up and the powder forms clumps.

I've just tried many methods of crushing, and to whoever suggested to put them in an envelope and use a rolling pin, thanks. That was soooooo much easier then my previous attempts (I was using a hand operated pill crusher, good for 1 or 2 pills only), I crushed 25 pills up in A LOT quicker time then just 5 the other way.

And tortoise, what do you mean by powdered pills? I'm from the same country as you, and noticed from another post that I bought the same tabs as you (chemist's own 10/500 pcm). Do you personally crush these up, or just put 'em in the water? I crushed them (obviously)

I'd like to point out I didn't mean myself, i was posting on behalf of a friend who is doing this in a country where it is perfectly legal. For the record, we were talking on the telephone and i was simply transcribing the methods he took to do the completed task. He doesn't have internet access and was talking to me on the phone, it's hard for me to type and talk at the same time.

I also realise that tortiose obviously has no idea about this and it's actually noddy, not tortoise

SWIM tried a ball mill the other day with steel crushing media... that worked very very well.

Swim thinks he says that they are just put into water to dissolve.. Hope that helps

since swim always has a dollar, and always has a small knife (never actually used it on a person though) swim will make a pocket out of the dollar, stick up to around 5 pills in there, fold over the top and bash with a knife. then swim will take the knife and drag it up and down the dollar, until the pops stop. after that the pills should be super-crushed, and can be scraped off the dollar using the knife. once you've done it a couple times it takes no more than a minute.

SWIY could place the pills in a lid covered small bottle (pill bottle, spice jar, etc.) with warm wather and shake the hell out of it from time to time. Will take him longer but it will ensure the codeine disolving more thoroughly.

Swim tends to use the envelope and the heavy object technique. He mentioned how he had some powder escaping from the sides of the envelope, so he placed that envelope folded in half into a 2nd one and still had the same results. He now said hes going to tape the sides up with sticky tape.

He would love to attempt to use a pestel and motor, although he cannot find one on his local high street... what a waste.

an envelope or paper works best. if you dont have one try putting them in a bank bag, this stops them from flying all over the place. the powder can be a bit of a nightmare for sticking to the inside of the bag but if you dont have anything else it works. with envelopes you dont really have as much trouble with the powder sticking to it.

Swim attempted this routine with taped up envelopes but still had the same problem. He also tried bank bags and plastic bags but managed to puncture holes in them and the power sticks to the inside >.<

But so far the evenelope is the most reasonable way.

Swim would like to add tonight he broke his pills in half and crushed them 2 at a time the powder was more fine than usual and loss less of his yield. muchos happy.

My friend Ceph says to use a simple effective electric coffee grinder. The end result of ultra fine powder that dissolves superbly in cold water. A person couldn't go wrong using one of these as it is that easy, grinds every pill to powder in just a few seconds! It takes Ceph less than 10 minutes to do a full CWE on 70 or so pills. Tolerance level should always be considered when estimating your dosage. Be so careful.

Ceph only takes so much because he has a very high opiate tolerance, being on 12mg buprenorphine daily dulls even a 1000mg codeine dose, which Ceph is quite used to taking, he loves being so itchy. Ceph never recommends anyone dream about taking 1000mg of codeine at once unless they really are familiar with their bodies and know their tolerance level and limits and consider recent drug use before dosing.

swim has ordered a pill crusher today but wonders if crushing 15-20 pills will take too long, not that swim doesn`t have time but swim is very impatient. swim also saw a small round [ping pong ball size] pepper grinder and wonders if this would be useful? swim also wonders if it`s totally neccessary to crush pills before adding to water. today swim experimented, although swim only tested with 1 pill [straight para] she found that pill dissolved quite easily in cold water and when filtered through Bounty kitchen roll, resulting liquid was cloudy but free of particles. swim is in very early stages of experimentation but is perfectionist who wants to get it right,

SWIM doesn't crush any pills, he just lets them sit in the warm water for about 10min and they break down by themselves.And if SWIM wants to speed up the process he just breaks the chunks in pieces with a spoon (while in the water).

If your using capulets swim could assume the pills would dissolve freely ... my dalek may have to try that attempt.

Maybe breaking the pills in half would be more efficiant when placing in water.

Although swim must to say. He spent a good hour looking round his house for methods to crush his pills and to his avil he still couldnt find any thing full proof.

recently he sticky-taped an entire envelope so it wouldnt puncture and that worked reasonabley well. He'll let you know how not crushing turns out.

No, swim uses regular tablets, (like tylenol 1) but of a different brand.Not crushing is a lot easier but at the same time swiy has to make sure that the tablets are completely dissolved or else he'll be loosing a lot of codeine...

My Dalek tried not crushing last night and just plunking the pills in a glass. It was alot easier but still thinks it wasnt disolved enough inside the glass no matter how many times he tried breaking up the clumps or stirring it.

He figures by the time you stirred it and let it sit you might as well have crushed it lol.
During his CWE he had more amounts than usual of ACAP in his final product (he filters twice through 2 coffe filters and paper towel) So he thinks he'll be using crushing.

Just a pain in the arse crushing 25+ pills. Hope that helps anybody wondering.

/\ yep, thanks swiy. swim was considering just chucking pills in water when attempting swims first CWE, but will now take time to crush them in pill crusher. swim has heard that a pestle and mortar is the best tool for the job.

This might be a little off topic, but could anybody here estimate the yield of a CWE on 20 500/30/8 pills? the total codeine would be 160mg but could anybody estimate the yield?
Swim does a pretty good CWE so his yield should be on the upper yields.

Yea I'd crush it with either paper folded over or in a coffee blinder, or in a bowl smashing it with the blunt end of a sharpie or anythying else that has a flat blunt end that seems like it would work well to crush.

I wouldn't do anything though if It wasn't a legal aquirization of the pills.... But seriously, unless this is completely legal then don't crush it!! legal is the key to crushing!

swim earlier had first attempt at CWE, she placed 10 paramol [500mgs para, 7.46mgs dihydracodeine] in a small cereal bowl and crushed pills with the back of a spoon, worked very well swim is saving solution untill tomorrow when she will try to consume vile tasting liquid without puking

74mg of dihydrocodine is roughly equal to about 115-140mg of codine might be a nice buzz if tolerance is down...
