Purity - the stuff smoked here in Sao Paulo , Brasil

Well,MEE (my electrical elephant) lives in Brazil,São Paulo.Some of you may know some about it : it's a typical subdeveloped metropolis,and we have the "favela"-phenomenon here.Maybe you have watched "Cidade de Deus" or City of God.
The favelas are the main drug-dealing sites.People go there,and buy their stuff for low prices.They usually have only hash,mj,"cocaina",xtc and DOI.
What happens is the mj quality is very low.

It comes compressed,and the majority of them have the presence of amoniacs on them.

Good shit like skunk is hard to find here,and expensive aswell.

MEE smoked good mj quite a few times(he has even been to amsterdam),and knows the differences.

I was wondering if:
-there is any way to test the stuff's quality
-anyway to purify what ur gonna smoke? (maybe a stupid question,but I've heard that freezing it would take some of the chemical shit off)
