If nice little happy pills that are legal, OTC, and displayed as herbal remedies on the shelf just come from the ground up remains of herbs and plants, what is the shit that goes into something like an ambien or an adderrall? Are the chemicals synthesized? How?

And how did they stumble across these different chemical combinations? Was it accident that they ingested something that, to the ingester, made them feel more speedy and smart, and so they continued to make it under the name adderrall? Or eating something else made them feel tired so they continued to produce it under the name ambien?
