Purity - Black MDMA Powder

I know its not a pill ID site, in fact swim is one of the first to scowl and press the back buttong when he reads a 'I foun diz pil 0n da bog flor....'

but

Swims been hearing lots about black MDMA powder in and around the south UK. Swim tends to stick to his yellow/off white rock he gets but wonders what this black stuff could be.

Apparently it comes off a rock, is hard to crumble and is pure black like coal. Many people are saying it blew them away when they used it but swim is still rather cautious. Hes not come into any yet so hasn't had chance to get a marquis test on it.

does anyone have any idea why the MDMA (if its MDMA) would be black? Could this be where the chemist has had to use a different in the processing or had to use a funny chemical or something in the wash? (shouldn't correct MDMA be white?)

Swims worried its an adultrant more than anything. Any thoughts would be fantastic!

SWIM is no chemist, but could it simply have food colourant added to it, perhaps for a similar reason why people may ask for pills with a certain logo believing they will be the same?

My friend says most likely adulterated, but possibly just dyed/stained to try and get some hype, rather than standard boring (off)white.

Good mention of testing. My friend says he'd be very cautious about this...

Cheers for the speedy replys swimmers! Swim will be on the look out for some, swims seriously hoping it is just colour and not some crap in it - that would really up set swim.


(on a more personal note, swim has started wearing swimming goggles at raves! He gives another reason when people ask why hes wearing them but DF just inspired him one evening! )

Black MDMA Powder or CRYSTALS have been popping up more this past year especially in the Gay scene. The Powder is CHARRED for a quicker hitting high. it solely comes down to the process of the chemist and in NO WAY is it necessarily adulterated or bad. When PURE Powder is cooked down it will Crystalize in form. if the process is purposelly done in a timely manner n with proper heat the crystals should come out CHARRED Brown or Black...

huh? please provide links to back up this statment.AFAIK mdma should never be black,and "charing" dosent sound like a actually procedure.

MDMA is white- sometimes off-white because it's not cleaned properly. Charred usually refers something which is done to wood! This sounds highly unlikely...

ive never heard of any black rc's so id assume this is mdma/whatever with some food coloring/whatever added.

SWIM has seen and taken 'black' crystals about a year ago with good results - not as black as coal but more dark crystaline 'sugar granual' look to it. like you Vuue, i was worried but too stupid to do without for a few weeks so ingested it - SWIM was fine but normal off white is SWIMS usual tipple - only take if there's nothing else SWIM'd say and keep intake low - at least to start with

in response to electrosleaze: "it solely comes down to the process of the chemist and in NO WAY is it necessarily adulterated or bad" there really is no way of telling surely (apart from a test to see if there is mdma present)!? swim would be incredibly cautious of black mdma and would definitely only bomb it opposed to a miserable wift up the nose.

wearing swimming goggles is a genius idea, i think geezaman's swim could start a craze here. swim is going to use that idea for sure.

swim will be keeping his goggles out for other swimmers bouncing round the clubs now!

The concept of chemical "Charring" as proposed by electrosleaze is in fact not a real procedure. Heating a chemical, or a process like this primarily causes degradation, most commonly to an inactive compound.

A possible cause of black MDMA, outside of the obvious drive for marketing consumption based on feel-good science of pesudo-chemists like electrosleaze, is a variability in ketones (carbonyl groups) used as precursors for production. Ketones vary in common color from clear, to red, and blue. A dark enough ketone and an inefficient production process that resulted a high enough content of unprocessed material could result in "black" MDMA. The reality could be a dying as a result of the poor process and odd ketone, either, or neither, and some mysterious introduction of a naturally dark substance in the production. Gassing procedures often produce odd colors, specifically with Chlorine gases.

Swims just tested.

A fizz, a bubble and a pure black puddle was created with his marquis kit. This went black almost instantly. Swims really looking forward to trying this now.

swim would have posted a picture of the puddle but as nothing else was to hand swim used the plastic lid of his scales and burned the shit out of it and so it was washed on the double. doh.

Attached is the MDMA, swims mobile is not good for pictures but you can make out the small dark rocks, swim got it on a much darker block but as he began to crumble it off, it started to get lighter and turns into an off white/yellow/grey power as it gets smaller.

Swim assumes there are other, darker batches floating around but compared to what swim normally gets, this is dark.

A couple years back SWIM saw stuff that had alot of purple (Iodine?) In it. This was usually broken up when he saw it he asumes to not raise questions as the colour got lighter in smaller pieces. Maybe black dye is a way to hide the impurity?

swim has only tried MDMA once, and said it was mainly just little white crystals, but also saw a few (maybe 4 or 5) black crystals out of the hundreds of crystals in the wrap. He picked them all out and tasted them and it tasted just the same. Obviously there were only a few black ones, so couldn't really tell you if they were proper MDMA, but it sure tasted legit.

A Certain Mouse is reliably informed that there has MDMA crystal of various colours & hues floating around Britain for a couple of years - he came across a very fetching purple variant a while ago, as well as one not dissimilar to the one photographed.

All of comparable quality (i.e. damn fine, allegedly!), no adverse events that weren't directly related to overuse & fixable with a bit of a lie down & a glass or 2 of water.

upon reading this swims intreaged.
never come across black mdma but have come across , white,brown yellow, gold,pink and red.(all of which turn dark blood like red if heated)

Swim recently tried black mdma. v similar effects to the white and off-white that swim has tried before. Swim experienced nystagmous which swim dosen't always get but not much bruxism which swim had the last time (4-weeks ago with white mdma) maybe this description can help. However, the next day swim felt slightly off; small headache and stomach problems. Normally next day swim feels reborn, fresh and at peace. Swim is not an expert chemists but the texts say mdma should be white with a boiling point point of 148 F. So anyone with lab access (unfortuantly swim dosn't any more) can test the melting point and tell us (a) is it mdma and (b) give us an idea of the purity of that perticular sample.
