SWIM just obtained 30MG of Focalin XR Caps.

SWIM searched around and hasn't found alot of info on this drug.
But what SWIM does know is that it is 2x Potent as riddelin and some think when snorted, it produces a sort of Cocaine High. SWIM was wondering
if SWIM crushed the little beads in the morning before school and railed 20MG worth, Would it give SWIM a decent high and help SWIM focus in school?

Firstly, prescription medications should only be taken under the directions of a trained physician, and should only be taken as recommended. Due to the fillers used, crushing and insufflating any type of pill puts one at great harm for damage to both the nasal membranes and the lungs.

SWIY says that one of his goals in taking this medicine is to increase focus in school. If SWIY feels that he matches the critera for someone with ADD/ADHD, he should consult with a physician to make a diagnosis and form a treatment plan.



With that said, SWIM has had quite a bit of experience with Focalin XR. SWIM finds that effects last for only 4-6 hours when crushed and snorted. When crushed and taken orally, effects take slightly longer to come on, but last for 6-8 hours. When taken without crushing the time-release beads, effects last for 9-12 hours.

While longer duration is nice, SWIM does find the effects of Focalin to be much more euphoric when insufflated. What SWIM does is crush up all the Focalin he will want for the day, snorts about 1/3 to 1/2 of it, and places the rest back in the gelcap, for safe-keeping/transportation. Then he takes small bumps throughout the day, off of his hand, to keep him at the desired level.

SWIM has developed a bit of a tolerance to Focalin, but still finds that 10 - 15 mg insufflated in the above method over about 8 hours is a fairly decent dose. It is probably best to start small and slowly ramp up dosage with these things, as SWIM found that low doses (talking 4 - 8 mg), were fully enjoyable at first, and has only needed to up the dosage due to tolerance. SWIM once insufflated 20 mg in two bumps, one two hours after the first. SWIM found this dose had far too much anxiety and "jittery-ness," though granted, it was before SWIM had built up an appreciable tolerance.

Remember, running at 120%, while enjoyable, is rough on the body. SWIM often forgets to eat and drink while under the effects of Focalin, so tell SWIY to make sure to stay well-hydrated and to get some nutrition.

focalin is the only stimulant that my monkey messes with anymore. in my monkeys opinion its better than coke, and lasts 10x as long. when snorted it is pure cool dopamine soaked euphoria. 20mg up the nose(10mg per nostril for greater surface coverage/absorption) makes his monkey feel like a king. and yeah focalin kills his appetite more than adderall ever did and he has caught himself going 6 hours without drinking anything. best pharm stimulant in my monkeys opinion... although he has never gotten a hold of desoxyn...

hoodabudda, does your monkey prefer the xr or regular formulation of focalin?

anybody else have a pet that's tried both? or know whether one is any 'purer' in terms of fillers/binders/yucky stuff than the other?

he hasnt had the tablet form but in the pictures the tablets look really bulky. with adderall and dexidrine swim's monkey prefers the xr's for snorting and is pretty sure that focalin would be the same. monkey was on 15mg intranasal earlier... focalin rules.

SWIM just recently insuffilated 10mg about 90 minutes ago and approximately 15 minutes later felt the euphoria. It was quite strong and swim is still feeling it although not quite as strong. this is the first time swim has insuffilated anything, so it was new. swim took adderall before (orally) and found 30mg of adderall to give him a pretty good euphoric feeling, but also got swim jittery. 20mg of adderall was the perfect dose and gave swim the concentration and focus needed to make it through some tough assignments and study sessions.

swims update on above post. swim insuffilated another 10mg about 2 hours later to regain that euphoric feeling and felt fantastic! nothing short of great honestly. however swim started feeling a bit emotional and questioned many life decisions about 3 hours later and although still awake had difficulty going to sleep. swim couldnt stop thinking about family, friends, and decisions made. swim got pretty emotional which is very rare for swim. swim doesnt think he'll go back to this anytime soon

SWIM was used to taking 5mg of Focalin 3x's a day orally. SWIM liked Focalin better than Adderall because eating and sleep was possible. A couple days ago SWIM was prescribed 10mg of FocalinXR and took as prescribed and then was way too "zombie" by 4pm. SWIM took another and felt a euphoric "boost" about 30 min later and by 7pm SWIM was a step under suicide. Thoughts of failure, the past, what was SWIM's purpose in life? Is it too late and is SWIM doomed to a pathetic existence? That kinda stuff. SWIM took .25 of xanax orally and had some wine and herbal remedies as SWIM always does and has for 7-ish years now and was better. But SWIM said those couple hours there were rough. Couldnt stop crying, it was pathetic. No Focalin XR for SWIM.

SWIM is now on 15mg of Focalin XR each day now (early morning) for ADD and uses 20-35mg as a supplemental amount for recreation (evening insufflation). SWIM enjoys very much, yes, definitely better than methylphenidate. (Thanks for the info, Hooda!) Sleep is possible after 4-5 hours. Food and water get skipped quite often unless SWIM remembers.
