The curious incident of the red light bulb and ecstacy.
Ok so, people do many different thing when on ecstacy/mdma and in days gone by this was a spurodically common activity by swim and his comrades. He thought that it was well none globally amongst users of ecstacy but recently when he started mentioning it to his foreign freinds they had never heard of anyone doing it before. Basically you get a red glass (or green or blue glass ect) light bulb, clear glass not frosted and preferable a low wattage. You take ecstacy and then when you reach the peek you turn off the lights where ever you are and stare into the coloured light bulb. Probably not the healthiest thing for your poor eyeballs but nevertheless. This produces some pretty incredible halucinations and visual effects, much more than ecstacy/mdma is known for, it being for most people a largely visual free drug. For some context this is one such incident, the first of several.
Swims sitting in a bedroom with 4 of his freinds, they have taken ecstacy (white speckled PS2 pills) about an hour ago and are having a pretty good time. They had taken the same pills from the same batch 4 weeks earlier and had experienced a very typical mdma effect, so the presumption (the pills were never tested) was that the only active chemical was mdma or mdma like substances. One of swims freinds jumps up and says "ahh man have ye's ever done that thing with the light bulb?", and procedes to replace the bulb in the bedside lamp with a red tinted one. Then the main room lghts were switched off and the music was turned up and everyone proceded to stare into the lamp.
After about 30 seconds effects were noticed. First the bulb began to shift colour, changing from red to orange then yellow and then green. resulting in gasps of amazment and "oh my fucking god, its all changing!!" from the one female member of the group.
Next swim started to actually see a little farm inside the light bulb as the green light (from a red light blub) filled his peripheral vision. A little farm deep inside the glass of the bulbs near the filament complete with tiny little vilagers tending to it. After about 5 or 10 mins of this we all agreed with bemused smiles on our faces to turn back on the main lighting and discuss the unusal visuals produced. But the visuals continued for the next 30 mins or so, although alot more subtle.
One such for swim included the pet smake in the corner of the room mouthing the words "i love you" when swim stared intensly at him. Another from one of swims freinds was the graphics (a little sound wave thing) on the front of the cd player pulsing out at his face 3d movie style in time with the music and then shattering outwards like exploding glass as it moved back towards the stereo.
Now swim and his associates had taken ecstacy about 30 times between them before this and were well aware of what the effects of (relativelky) pure ecstacy/mdma felt like, and on the previous occasion these pills were taken the felt as pure as any taken before, and produced absalutely no halucinatory effects so the resolution reached was that it was deffinately the coloured light bulb. And future experiments verified that.
So swim was just wondering if any one else has done this or even heard of people doing it before and what were your experiences??

Swim has never done this on e.Swims favorite e activity has always been to turn off all the lights,lay down in his girlfriends lap(swim can curl up in her lap like a cat because swim is so small),and talk about swims feelings.Swim finds this to be better than any therapy because he is talking to someone that loves him and not someone that is paid to care.

SwiFr used to look into lightbulbs but with his eyes closed so you see the red. He also looked into them indirectly by quickly moving a mirror, for ghetto style strobe flashes. That was a long time ago.
