My god what total propaganda the whole thing was totally scripted. Funny looking back now how the russians (the reds), were scapegoated. Kinda expalins why the catcher in the rye was originally banned.

That is only a fraction of the reasons. The author was pro russian, the guys hat was red, this was very intentional and was meant as a big FU.
