What are the positive effects of speed?

I keep hearing many bad things about speed, that it is an evil drug, addictive, worse than heroine in some respects. Any newspaper article by a respected reporter will tell you that. The irony is the reporter was probably on speed at the time of writing but couldn't express his actual views because of the politically correct era we live in - "live and obey and no questions asked because we know better".

If taken in small quantities, does speed have some beneficial effects, particularly with regards to increasing the ability to concentrate, improving clarity, organisation or logical thought, enhancing memory, social confidence etc.... in other words, similar effects to adderell or other drugs used to treat ADHD disorders.

I know one girl, a friend of mine, who use to take speed before any major exam and she would do brilliantly - achieving top marks ( often above 95% in advance maths or science) and I know that can be partly attributed to the fact that she is an extremely intelligence person, way above average but nonetheless she still swears by speed, believing that it has helped her achieve these top grades and I was just wondering if you know of anybody else for whom the effects have been similar.

How much speed does SWIY take in grams? What do you think is the safest way of taking speed? Drink? On the tongue?

Re: What are the positive effects of speed?

Methamphetamine is actually a prescription drug (schedule 2) known as dexosyn. As a prescription drug there must be some obvious good things the drug does. The most popular effect is appetite suppression, this is what speed is prescribed to the unhealthily obese, if one would just google information about desoxyn they would surely find other reasons for which the drug may be prescribed.

Desoxyn comes in 5mg tablets...that is 0.005mg and as a prescribed drug between 10 and 25mg are taken daily, usually spread over 2 or 3 doses.

Swim would have to say the safest way would be orally, in pure (99.5+%) form. Smoking is never good for the lungs and insufflating is never good for the nost.

As far as the grades thing...swim has found meth to be a little too stimulating without offering the ability to concentrate in return...he much prefers the amp's found in adderall for the purpose of studing.

Taken in small quantities speed most certainly can have beneficial effects. Almost every drug (recreational, theraputic or both) has a good and a bad side.

swim can perform at 150% using meth, everything is easier, senses inhanced, swim doesn't recomend using meth for even a test though as you may find the effects to good and slowly become addicted. Swim has seen A students who used for test fall to the substance.

Re: What are the positive effects of speed?

swim would agree that meth or speed does have some great sides to the initial effects. It will wake you up alot quicker than coffee and can keep you going to long amounts of time. but if you consider the long term effects, not a single one is worth it in swims opinion.

Re: What are the positive effects of speed?

Meth sends a flood of dopamine into your synapses. There are other substances that enhance dopamine transmission, but meth is one of the big ones.
Some mental conditions (BD, depression, even skiz), seem to be rooted in dopamine dysfunction. This would point to meth having some powerful antidepressant qualities.
Psychiatry tends to focus on Serotonin, and there is something to be said about that, but when it comes to hardcore antidepressant activity, Dopamine will stomp a mud hole in Serotonin.
Meth is very powerful and requires much willpower to control, but it does seem to have some positive attributes.

Re: What are the positive effects of speed?

my gold fish likes meth because he can do everything that he dislikes with great pleasure. he can study, i mean his the best student in the class, and it's funny how he can manage to shoot 0.5g of meth, have muscle twitches and dilated pupils and no one suspect he is a junkie , he does that every time he takes a test or has an exam.
meth gets my fish pretty happy and he has a charming smile so he manages to pick up a lot of hot chicks , they find him funny and smart and they love that he is always ready for anything of course 99% of them dont even suspect that he is incredibly high at that certain moment. speed helps him stay in shape , and because he always wants to do something , he's fish bowl is always clean and i am very happy for that , but he is sure to have a good hygene , take vitamines , calcium and CNS antioxydants

There are so many positive effects of meth it makes swim sick seeing how its demonized by most people these days. They demonize it out of ignorance. Meth is a tool to be used responsibly but like a hammer you can use it constructively or destructively.

SO SO SO TRUE

swim always gets stupid remarks from ppl that never tried anything besides cannabis. anti-meth campaigns like that ... not even once things are full of **** or show only the bad sides of it , they never give examples of let's say a guy that is one of the best students in his school , goes out to clubs and has hot girlfriends and yet he's healthy because he really knows what he is doing. of course amphetamine or dexamphetamine are nearly just as good.
meth is not that big bad wolf. meth is really distructive when you start having psychosis, but that can easily be avoided by sleeping and NEVER BUT NEVER ! smoke weed or have THC in your system when you do meth, you'll get a psychosis 100%. SWIM'S best friend ended up in a coma from meth + cannabis , he kept doing it and went past he's limit. of course SWIM kept doing it , cause he knew how to have fun and at the same time use it for constructive purposes and he's health was 100% ok and he went to the doctor for tests every couple of months ( SWIM's doc knows he's an addict, he always said SWIM was "an extraordinary case" because of his herfect health )
SWIM is glad he isn't the only one who really thinks meth is good not in only from a junkie's point of view ...

@ontopic : positive effects :
- high energy levels
- incredible capacity to study ( SWIM uses the term INHUMAN )
- "hunger" to get things done
- "INHUMAN" levels of happiness ,etc
negative ... i guess you all know 'em

Re: What are the positive effects of speed?

Yeah psychosis is one of the downsides. You might be right there because the only time swim had psychosis was when he was smoking lots of weed while coming down from a 3 day binge. Psychosis fades away once you get some sleep so its not much of a problem in swims opinion.

Swim loves how the most mundane, boring tasks become fun on meth. Swim never cleans his house on the stuff but if he has to do it he'll have fun doing it. One problem swim finds is he takes on ridiculously big and complex tasks and projects that he has no hope of finishing. For example he'll get a spontaneous urge to build a website 10 times the size of erowid.org and although he usually makes a real good start the meth wears off and he loses all interest in continuing his project.

On the other hand swim always has a spontaneous urge to do all the little things he knows he should do but is usually too lazy. Swim could go on all day about the positive effects meth has on him. He's glad to hear c17 is the top of his class. Keep it up.

Comepletly agree. The media portray meth as something it isnt. it may take control of the mind to fight addiction, but if you cant control your mind you shouldn't be doing drugs.
The media never tells us about the doctors, the lawyers, the teachers and yes, even the judges, that are on meth. They perform and go through their day without anyone knowing. so obviously it is not wat it may seem
