Mushroom Shelf Life - Will Old Mushroom Still Work?

Hi,

So I ws wondering whether it is safe to consume dry mushrooms that are about a year old. Does anything happen to them over a time period that long that might make them unsafe, or weaker?

I appreciate your help!
