Injecting - Keeping out the cut

Swim has seen heroin IV'd bunch of times before but never cocaine.... searched the IV sticky thread but no-go. When SWIm saw people shoot H they would mix it up in the spoon till it dissolved then throw in cotton from a cig filter, he said it was to keep the cut out and reduce the amount of air that gets in the spike.... is this the same for yayo too? or can u just stick the needle in the water and go at it? i hear a lil air aint too bad

i believe that 2-5 cc of air can cause an embolism, but dont fuck around with these kind of things, man.

just use a fucking filter and remove the air before injecting

Always filter your shot. Good cocaine appears to dissolve completely, even in cold water, but street cocaine is never "pure". You will always have some particles; they may be too small to be seen with the naked eye, but can do damage nevertheless. Use a micron filter, or, if unavailable, the cotton from a q-tip works well.

Air is removed from the syringe after the shot is drawn up. There is no reason to inject air, even if a small amount won't harm you.

also the cotton acts as a sponge to allow the needle to draw up the liquid without having to scrape it across the metal spoon, without a cotton a lot of the shot is left in the spoon.

The mighty cotton is a dual purpose fiber.
