you must read this if you smoke salvia!!!I started using salvia a little over a year ago and liked it a lot it work well for me i tripped more times then i can remember and smoked it to get high twice as much.BUT after a while i started getting weird thoughts i started to get paranoid about the world. so i did some research to try and find out what was wrong with me. it turns out that with prolonged Ketamine use (and i believe Salvia too), because it "brings you to another reality" type of trip usersbegin to believe that events are working out in ways which focus on themself. its called Egocentrism. so i did some research on this problem and every thing i was thinking about, for about a three week span untill now cuz its still not gone, were characteristic of that problem, egocentrism. so i'd like tojust warn everone not to start doing this drug a lot (like every weekend and sometimes for a few days straight) because i believe that like Ketamine which has a kind of same alternate reality type trip can lead to unwanted thoughts. from what i've read i believe that egocentrism goes away by just realizing that you are (read about egocentrism to find out the effects) having these thioughs because of a drug(even though it happens naturaly). be careful.P.S. i also have done otherhallucenogens like acid and shroomsthat might have added to this but i dont think they were the problem.

Hmm, salvia provides a very intense experience so it doesn't surprise me that heavy use has its drawbacks. I have never experienced the same condition you are describing but I also have not used the drug as much as you. It never became something I had the desire to do heavily but more so something I did for the occasional experience. I guess the moral is if you respect it, it will respect you, as with most things.

i agree that the plant should be repected. i used salvia so much because i was able to look at the world in a different way after the experience. but i should have been more careful with the drug seeing how theres not much known about it but oh well live and learn im just posting that as a warning for others so that they can experience the good effect of salvia without the bad.

egocentrism is a condition usually associated with dissociative anesthetics (PCP, Ketamine, DXM) however I don't doubt that Salvia, considering the nature if it's experience could lead to similar conditions. As you have already discused, respect is the key.

salvia shouldn't be use for recreational purposes. It is wrong to beleive so.originaly it was used bye shamans to induce visions for spiritual reasons and probably medical reasons as well. today alot of people are useing for a quick high and are abusing it. mostly people who have never been introduced to to other drugs that have simular effects. we have all seen the videos on youtube. because of these videos salvia will soon be illegal in all 50 states. I just hope that this doesn't make science turn their backs on it. "a friend of mine" has had chronic pain for about 10 years due to a misdiagnosed injury. Doctors had said he had a thorasic sprain,bursitis,tendonitis,and a birth defect in his back. recently he went to a doctor who sent him for a MRI because his symtoms worsened and he lost feeling in his fingers on his right hand. come to find out all these years he has had a ruptured disk in his neck. now he is awaiting surgery. bone fusion. all of the pain meds prescribed to him has failed to relieve his pain. and was having problems sleeping due to the fact. even his nuerosurgen told him that the pain meds wouldn't help the nerve pain he was experianceing. a friend had offered him pot suggesting that it may help him sleep.but knowing he would have to have blood work done he refused. later his friend told him about a site about salvia. desperate for relief we went to the site at first he thought this must be some kinda of joke because it was saying that this legal herb made people trip like on the drug L.S.D. but only lasted 5 or10 minutes. but as he read on he noticed that some people reported it to help depression and also among other things chronic pain later on that afternoon his friend came over with some salvia extract. I believe it was 15x. in pain and desperate he took a drag from a makeshift pipe his friend had made. he then experianced something like nothing he ever had before...it kinda scared him.but before he knew it he was back to normal. to his amazement his pain seemed easier to deal with. he even forgot to take his pain meds until that night. the next day he went to the place where his friend had purchased the salvia and not wanting to flip out again he went with a less potent extract...5X i believe it was. he didn't experiance the intence pain he was feel before till 2 days afterwards. so he had no need to smoke what he had puchased.on the third day his pain came creeping back.he took his pain med all that day.they weren't helping so that night he took a drag a the 5x salvia extract .but didn't dare hold it in for more than 15 seconds.felt wierd for about a minute.then his pain backed off enough for him to fall asleep.it worked better for him than the oxycodone that the doctor prescribed him. hopefully for his sake and others like him it will be investagated more and a nerve pain reliever will be derived from salvia. in his opinion it has many benefits thatshould be looked into. I sure hope my friend does alright in his surgery. I would sure hate to see him suffer because of a bunch of stupid kids on you tube filming thierselves doing 20x and up salvia for a kick.

his has nothing to do with egocentrism but i thought it had everything to do with salvia. if you dont have the self control to rationalize you feelings drugs like Savia divinorum aren't for you. if it is made illegal, i do beleive it shoud be able for people diagnosed with chronic pain through a pharmacy.

hmm... swim doesnt have all that much experience with salvia, but it made him feel like the world was perfect, and everything fit just right
