Re: Datura/Jimsonweed effects.

That woman says it's the 4th most feared botanical on the planet? It is #1 for SWIM. SWIM ate an extremely large dose and freaked out for the next 6 days or so. Bad times. He came to in a mental hospital with a crapload of felonies on him. No fun.

Re: Datura/Jimsonweed effects.

When swim tried Datura it wasn't blindly, I had read the toxicology reports and the warnings and when it was imbibed swim started with a very mild dose.

The effects were frightening though, my friend who was driving decided it would be a fun thing to jerk the car back and forth pretending to lose control, swim thought we all died and was told he screamed for thirty minutes straight. It was not a desirable high.

The video comments were strange though, on youtube, the mother of four. Weird.

Yea, ncsponger responded to all of her comments. Her son will not be around much longer. She said he finally found his "dream substance" DXM. That shit is useless to me, and also dangerous as her son used it everyday in high doses.

Re: Video of Datura's Effects!

These type of reports where people "freak out" and burn down forests and O.D. and all kinds of nutty stuff are the ones who go into it blind.

SWIM knows you need to have the right recipe, do research, know what you're getting into 'cause that's a ride you can't just jump off of. Swim used Datura and Brugmansia very succesfully when he was younger and suffered no permanent or long lasting effects.

SWIM says get a good recipe from an experienced Datura user, don't go Rambo and brew up an entire pot of Datura leaves then slug it down. You may or may not live to regret it.

Many parts of the plant can be utilized, from seeds, root, to leaves. Even the flowers. But for that you need a very experienced teacher which may be hard to find because more than likely they will be shamans living in a jungle or desert somewhere.

SWIM is not advocating people to run out and try it. I am merely sharing SWIM's experience with this beautiful plant.

P.S. The visions brought on but this plant are most often frightening and terrifying. You MUST BE PREPARED if you chose to try this plant drug.
Know exactly what you are getting into. Wrong dosage can be fatal or effect you the rest of this life. That's what SWIM told me.

Jaymz, how long ago did this happen? Ofcourse memory is very hazy and amnesia prevails, but if SWIY has some memories and other people's versions on the course of events, consider writing a trip report about it.

The most fascinating part of that video is when they're sharing the imaginary cigarette. Does anyone know if shared hallucinations are a common occurrence with this drug?

I think that's the most fascinating aspect as well. It seems crazy to me that the "phantom cigarette" is a common experience on datura. I doubt I'll ever try datura, but damn if I'm not tempted. It seems mind-blowing.

yeah i know they are, its a crazy high but you dont remember what you did and the video didn't mention the fact that it adversely affects your vision after you come down. You see anything you think is there.I have seen people talk to corn stalks thinking they were friends. Some other friends put the cushion off the couch in the oven and thought it was a pizza about burnt the house down. I have never taken anything but the seeds but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Its not a good high or a memorable experience

Re: Video of Datura's Effects!

Some character Bongo met was fond of cyclizine hydrochloride - sold as Marezine for motion sickness. He would rent cheap motel rooms for his excursions, and meet pretty girls to fuck. Who weren't actually there.

He would awake the next day and notice how many burned hole were in the carpet. His method was to light a (real) cigarette and pass it to his hallucination to smoke. And it would land on the carpet. I wonder if he's burned himself up yet...

Re: Video of Datura's Effects!

SWIM has had a couple of similar experiences with travel sickness pills that are no longer available in my country but used to be over the counter.
The ciggarette thing happened everytime and is the only drug SWIM has ever taken that has made him hallucinate solidly as in not just fractyls and visual distortions like on acid.
The experiences were never frightening as it all felt real, kinda like a waking dream. Some of the more interesting hallucinations were majic carpets coming out of walls, weet-bix (breakfast cereal) packets flying towards me, pieces of dirt turning into rainbow bugs that kept wandering off, drinking from imaginary coke cans and, the scariest (in retrospect) of them all, sitting on a train and seeing a fellow passengers head turn into a loaf of bread, the bread was knd of crushed and lopsided and SWIM nearly picked up the loaf of bread (lady's head) to put it up right like make it straight sort of thing. Thank fuck her loaf of bread head turned back into a regular head and SWIM stopped what he was doing... that vouldave been awkward.
SWIM watched that video and it (travel/motion sickness tablets) looks kind of similar in effects to datura/jimsons weed.
Can any SWIY's verify this???

Heavy stuff, swim was on the brink of trying this once, but good thing he didn't... Btw, swim experience the same imaginary cigarette thing on antiparkinsonians... Plus the same feelings of him being with imaginary friends, talking to them ( on the street ), I wonder how the people that swim walked by looked at him lol.

Same for SWIM, on anticholinergics/antiparkinsonians. Some guys he knows also have mentioned speaking alone or speaking to someone isn't there and of course total memory blackout like you don't know what's your name, way more than benzos.
My tiger just hate the weird and nasty physical effects to go with high deliriant doses.

Nastiest experience was with Nutmeg and biperiden aka akineton (antiparkinsonian/ anticholinergic with long half life) and best was with trihexyphenidyl aka artane (antiparkinsonian/antiAch with relatively short half life) and hyosciamus leaves. The worst thing in SWIME are the extreme dryness and warmth/hyperthermia together and ISWIMO there is the danger and possible toxicity..?

Jimson weeds no joke. The Nibbler grew a few plants one summer and him and his friend decided to experience the toxic delerium. Thank god we had some sitters because we went loco. Swims friend tells him he was having a conversation with a chair about elevators and water filters?!?

Re: Video of Datura's Effects!

SWIM spent most of his life working on farms. The herbal beauty of the rural countryside is vast, with fields separated from forest by stone wall hedgerows. In this setting its easy to develop an appreciation for nature's flora and fauna. So it was that SWIM's interest in healing plants expanded to those with hallucinogenic properties. Particularly fascinated with the devilishly gorgeous Datura, SWIM searched the entire landscape, but to no avail. Feeling forlorn at not finding his green femme fatale, SWIM dutifully went about his chores, feeding and milking cows. Upon herding the freshly depleted bovines out to graze, SWIM did a double take, noticing the object of his desire there in front of him, growing in the manured pasture. And not only one, but several Datura plants studded the ground, although the one first noticed was beautifully robust.

Throughout the summer, SWIM watched the horned flowers bloom and the evil spiky seed pods bloat. After collecting plants in autumn, dried arrangements graced the flower vase, so unique in their character. And although SWIM collected both leaves and seeds, fearsome respect prevented him from trying out this Halloween hallucinogen. Perhaps it is fortuitous...

SWIM was not the only one awed by this botanical spectacle in the meadow. The cows all had an innate reverence for this plant, both profound and fearful. Maybe due to its sour acrid smell or its eerie appearance, the cows would keep distance, walking way around its presence, all the while staring at it with a sort of hideous glare. Something deep in their genetic memories warned them to stay way away!

All kids lurking here and attracted to Datura but wise enough to do research before actually trying it should follow SWIY example. And remember the cows' behaviour as it speaks volumes really.

(Madlab too would like to know what are most feared botanicals number 1, 2 and 3)

Re: Video of Datura's Effects!

Those effects are caused by taking overdoses. Jimson weed (Datura stramonium) is a very valuable medicine when used in the proper dosages. How it got to be popular for people to overdose on it, I will never understand. That's so dangerous.

The medicinal doses used are safe and very effective for many different kinds of conditions. The higher doses used for delirium are extremely dangerous.

SWIM uses Datura stramonium seeds quite a lot, but never takes dangerous delirium causing doses. With Datura stramonium, psychoactive doses are near the fatal dosage of it. It should never be taken for that purpose. The maximum safe dose of Datura stramonium seeds is reported as 20 seeds. People using Datura stramonium to get delirium are often taking 100-500 seeds! That's a massive overdose and can be fatal. People taking massive doses for psychoactive effects are risking their lives.

SWIM uses 1-3 seeds normally and never more than 10 in a day. If you stick to that amount, it's completely safe.

3 Datura stramonium seeds are very effective at blocking certain types of nausea. They also potentiate the effects of many other drugs. 3 seeds will potentiate the effects of LSD/LSA, psilocin/psilocybin, harmine/harmaline, marijuana, bufotenine, and especially mescaline while also blocking the nausea. That dose is completely safe.

I'm so tired of hearing about how deadly Datura stramonium is. Of course if you eat 100-500 seeds, it can be deadly because that's a massive overdose. But when using 10 seeds or less, it's perfectly safe. It was actually used safely by doctors for a long time to treat many medical conditions until it was replaced by the purified alkaloids.

Is there any theory behind potentiating with Datura stramonium seeds?
What is the possible mechanism of this? If it is practised, how does look it in practice? (especially curious when the seeds should be taken) Could they be utilised to potentiate Amanita Muscaria? Or Salvia?
