Salivating whilst smoking
My pet dog (mini me) has a tendancy to salivate in enourmous amounts just before he lights, which stays with him until a few minutes after he's finished toking.

This is obviously not really what mini me is wants. This hasn't always been the case in the past and has only started happening recently.

Mini me's begging anyone out there who has any suggestions to help him stop this habbit and avoid this poor poor dog having to spit all the time and also swallow saliva and all the nasty products of smoke that are in it!

Could be similar to what happens when we imagine some kind of delicious food, even if that food is nowhere to be seen. We salivate profusely. Your dog's mind is expecting the THC buzz and this may be a normal reaction, similar to that.

Either this or your dog just happens to imagine Sour Jawbreakers every time he goes to light up. *shudder*

Happens to SWIM all the time especially when smoking bowlpacks, sometimes swim feels like the alien from the Aliens movies, drooling and dripping with saliva Also it could be from a Pavlov type response, call it conditioned reflexes I belive? Good ole Pavlov

Your dog is probably anticipating the dry mouth, and starts salivating to compensate.

I thought myself it might be something to do with the dry mouth.

Lol, mini me says he never feels like an allien. More like he has niagra falls flowing out of his mouth!

Mini me could try taking a diphenhydramine pill (commonly sold as benedryl) 30 minutes to an hour before smoking, this may dry out mini me's mouth (although it may also make him tired).

Happens to swim, but far moreso when smoking a blunt. (Marijuana with a tobacco wrapper)

Think mini me is going to try and put up with it for now. See if he can meditate it out of him or something!

How is it that some people's mouths /don't/ dry up like a desert when they smoke? SWIM always has to drink mouthful after mouthful of water for hours, and her voice always becomes dry and cracked, but her friends don't get any thirstier.
