Drug info - Kava-kava mao inhibitor?

this scares swim a bit cause he is ok a ssri

SWIM has done lots of kava kava (root powder extracted in water) while on paxil and never had a problem, in fact kava kava did little for him.

Would be interesting combining with PEA though.

it did not much for swim to
he has pills and the root powder but he cant stand the taste of the drink.
would a couple months old root powder still be active? cause he has like 40 gram or so left, maybe give it a second go?

It depends on how one you store it. If it is airtight you might be ok. Go ahead and try it, worst that could happen is nothing.

Kava has an active incredient,yangonin, which is a MAO-B not MAO-A.MAO-B regulates Dopamine and Phenylathylamine while MAO-A Serotonin and Norandrenaline,that's why SWIY have nothing to afraid of with the SSRI is taking.

It says kavapyrones have MAO-B inhibiting qualities in the study, and I presume this yangonin is a kavapyrone from reading testodan's post. How about kavalactones, can they be MAO-A inhibitors?
