Question about dispensers

swim has just bought a head unit for a dispenser and would like to know if swim needs the other part of the dispenser or can swim just use something to block the opening to get the nitrous in the baloon?

Re: Question about dispensers

Pingpong pingpong, why oh why, didnt SWIY just buy a whole dispenser rather than just the head piece?

technically your idea could work yes, but really its probably not worth the effort, why not (expletive) just buy a proper functioning unit, they are not overly expensive, and soon pay for themselves in convenience and efficiency.

Re: Question about dispensers

swim would rather just use the head unit than buying what looks like a flask to me for an extra XXX GBP plus delivery, swim wont find it useful to have swim wont be taking nitrous all the time so the cheaper the better, swim has a cracker for 8g chargers but a friend of swims bought 30 16g chargers so swims friend doesnt want to send them back for XXX GBP for the person he bought it from to send 8g chargers for another XXX GBP which he would have to pay when swim could just buy a head unit for just XXX GBP.

how would swim be able to use the headpeice without the flask thing. would it work if swim just put the opening to water?

Re: Question about dispensers

No SWIY could not just put the head piece in water.
SWIY will not be able to use a 8g head piece to crack 16g chargers either, or visa versa. If SWIY has 16g chargers they need a 16g head piece, and for 8g ones a 8g one.

is SWIYs 8g cracker a flask type?

Re: Question about dispensers

no swim has bought a 16g head peace for a dispenser not a cracker, swim has a 8g cracker.

why wouldnt it work in water? swim would think water would be the best thing.

what would be the best thing to block the opening?

Re: Question about dispensers

Ok many different terms can be used, basically, any device that breaks the seal on a cap/whippet/nang/cartridge can and is often referred to as a cracker. whether correct or not. I get that you have the head for a cream dispenser and your 8g cracker is likley a tyre inflator of some type or little screw togeather thing just for cracking caps

is the very bad diagram below basically correct to SWIYs understanding?

If so SWIM does not understand how SWIY intends to block the place where the flask would usually be by using water. The only way to use what SWIM understands you to have on its own, would be to seal the underside with a tight fitting circular sheet of somthing, and have a balloon already over the outlet at the point of screwing down the cap, while holding the release lever fully depressed, otherwise it would blow the sheet straight off.

hope that makes some sense.

Re: Question about dispensers

what if swim put polyfiller round the rim and attached it to a base, would the polyfiller react in any way with the nitrous? or what about just a few sandwich bags held on with ducktape or something?

Re: Question about dispensers

both could work, SWIM has no knowladge of polyfillers reaction with nitrous and as polyfiller would be a hard solid lump SWIM would try to avoid it, as if anything went wrong it could fire out at speed
SWIM would go with the sandwich bags, if SWIY really isnt going to get a flask piece, because sandwich bags will work, while also being the weak part of the system that if its going to fail will fail in the least dangerous manner.
