Kratom tea

Swim recently bought 2g of kratom resin (unknown extract) from a reliable source.
A few days ago he dissolved 1/2g in boiling water and drank.

He felt no effects and was wondering if the boiling water degraded the kratom.

He feels this should have been a high enough dose, as he believes standard kratom is active at 2g and his resin should be a higher extract than 4x.

Any words of wisdom???
