I don't know if this belongs here, or in the varius drugs forum, but I was watching the other day a tv show discussing pharm companies dirty strategies to make money. Most discussion was focussed on the legality of generics, and the price of aids meds for Africa etc.

The most shocking part for me was when they started discussing a drug called Veralipride, a neuroleptic drug used off-label for hot flushes in menopausic women.

Apparently this drug has a history of nasty side effects including early parkinson, suicide thoughts, insomnia and depression. I tell you the victims were all screwed up even years after no using the drug, and they claimed side effects were known by the manufacter but ignored for a long time.

The medication has been withdrawn from European market, but victims have failed to obtain compensation from the laboratory manufacturing the drug.

seriously... why can't these dicks just forget about having the money for a mansion on every continent and just be honest about what they sell. especially in the field of pharmeceuticals
