Smoke from dried poppies

Swim is a total newbie to opium and wants to know whats the best way to extract opium from dried pods?

Does tea from pods actually produce a noticable buzz, and would 15 medium (ebay) pods be enough for 3 people?

Would prefer to smoke - whats the best way of (hypothetically) making a smokable extract from these pods?
