Favorite Movie/Music for Mushrooms

Pink Floyd - The Trial

I heard this song early in my trip session and it stayed with me the entire night. I kept seeing cartoon images of being in a courtroom and hearing the judge sing me this song. And the jury kept calling me crazy, and the lawyers were dancing and then grass started growing in the middle of the court room and a tunnel with a light appeared. I walked through it and just as it got to the end of the tunnel, my eyes opened and i was back to reality(somewhat).

What are YOUR favorite songs for booming?

Under NO circumstances don't put all your music on a playlist adn then turn on shuffle while tripping. There would be at least one song from the style of Cardle of Filth to make your girlfriend crying and screaming. It didn't scare me much, but she was crying hard because of this song. Select the best songs of your taste and put some songs you haven't heard recently or have never heard but consider them positive and NEVER listen to Cradle of Filth or Burzum while on shroomz, unless this music doesn't make you feel better and more secure (I know at least one person who is lke this). It's just an advice to trip good.

I'd love to discuss music choices with anyone here, if they care to... there's so many good ones, but here's a few good tunes.

Chicago - Saturday In The Park (will you help him change the world?)
John Lennon - Instant Karma
John Lennon - Power To The People
Jimmi Hendrix - Are You Experienced? (your little world won't let you go...)
Rush - Twilight Zone (take it off, he's got three eyes..)
The Beatles
- Because (9 part harmony, it sounds amazing)
- Magical Mystery Tour (that's an invitation... to make a reseveration...)
- Here Comes The Sun
311
- Strong All Along
- Loco
- Speakeasy

I really would be here all day, though. SWIM spends a TON of time figuring out what songs he likes when tripping, and he tells me all about it. ;-)

That's funny, swim also enjoyed 'Saturday in the Park' by Chicago while tripping...also the Beatles; Bruce Springsteen's earlier music (Spirits in the Night, Rosalita, something in the Night, etc.,); the Rolling stones; Led Zeppelan; plus much more.

Yes, Animal Collective is an awesome band. Panda Bear is a side project of Animal Collective, check it out!

SWIM just kinda browsed through the posts, and agrees with most of your choices whole heartedly.

YES!

Panda bear and Animal collective are both fantastic while tripping. Also, Liars album 'Drum's not dead' is equally good. You should give that a listen if your not already familiar with it...

TJW.88 added 1 Minutes and 48 Seconds later...

juanathan, Whats the album second down on the left (with the ship on the front)? It looks familiar but cant put my finger on it

I could go on forever on this topic, but here's some of my favorites...

Techno (albums):
-Daft Punk "Homework"
-Voodoo and Serano "Cold Blood"
-Fatboy Slim "You've Come a Long Way Baby"
-
The Prodigy "Music for the Jilted Generation"
-
The Crystal Method "Vegas"
-Warp Brothers "Warp Factor"
-Shpongle, of course

Non-Techno:
-Butthole Surfers: Pepper
-Guns 'n Roses: Paradise City, Sweet Child of Mine
-Tool: Aenema
-Bush: Machinehead, Everything Zen
-Iron Maiden: Aces High
-Steve Miller: Serenade
-REO Speedwagon: Ridin the Storm Out
-Just about anything by Hendrix

And, although I'm not the biggest fan of rap, these are kind of funny:
-Cypress Hill: Insane in the Brain
-Gravediggaz: Defective Trip, 1-800-SUICIDE

Leaving out a lot... but again, I could go on about this all day.

A few more SWIM has found recently:

The 59th Street Bridge Song - Simon And Garfunkel (Very happy, upbeat feel, lots of positive emotion)

A Whole New World - Disney's Alladin OST... listen to it, it works.

Crystalline Green - Goldfrapp

Scents And Subtle Sounds (Intro to Full) - Phish (And you'd be treated to a veiw of everything you love)

Willy Wonka - Pure Imagination (I'm partial to the Smoking Popes cover... "If you want to veiw paradise...")

Kodachrome - Simon And Garfunkel. Just feels good

Cecila - Simon And Garfunkel. Ditto, although the message is a bit harsh if you have relationship issues.

I have more, but let's hear from someone else.

"Dancing Galaxy" and it's slower counterpart "Ambient Galaxy." by Astral Projection. SWIM is a trance DJ and highly recommends these as the best songs to trip to.

Also:

-"Divine Moments of Truth" - Shpongle
-"Soulstice" (The Warwick Bass Monkey Remix) from the CD "Hallucinogen In Dub Mixed By Ott." In fact that whole album is worth it.

There are so many others...

Others mentioned Black Sabbath (they sound so wise), and Frank Zappa (truely psychedelic).

Last weekend a Swim I've heard about got to sample his h/g Puerto Ricans. Swim says he ate them and went on a 2 hour walk to a park close by. He came home because he wasn't feeling much of anything and when he got home BOOM.

Swim said it was midnight by this time so his foaf stripped down and got in bed with the iPod in complete darkness (the way booms ought to be enjoyed). He first listened to Al DeMeola's Elegant Gypsy and then melted into some Mozart (Bohm).

He said what was most pleasant is that in the dark, he was the theatre, he was the Baroque (plateauing as the rococo) esque wood work of the theatre and the instruments. he could feel the music reverberating from his body and between the ornate spaces of his body. He said it was absolute and utter JOY to the ^100000000000000000000000...

Swim said his foaf prbably could've listened to anything and found some reward in the hearing.
