A mate of mine, SWIM, has recently been prescribed ENDEP 25mg (amitriptyline hydrocholride) and he was wondering if anyone new how the new antidepressant's would affect rolling?

Re: Anti Depressance and E

Amitriptyline being a TCA inhibits the re uptake of neuro transmitters including serotonin.. Ecstasy interferes with the brain's ability to use serotonin.. Use of an anti-depressant probably infers SWIY has clinical depression.. meaning SWIY most likely has low serotonin levels.. Long story short combining these could lead to a rare but threatening disease known as serotonin syndrome

Re: Anti Depressance and E

Should SWIM go talk to his doctor and inform her of his ecstacy use?

Another thing, i could quite fully understand, but does SWIM get a higher serotonin level or lower level?

Plus will it lower or higher his resitance?

Re: Anti Depressants and E

For me ecstasy is and was the most powerful anti-depressant I have ever tried. (And I have tied them all). Which is why I frequently kick myself that I don't have a more regular and reliable supplier). Depression robbed me of more than 20 years of my life - but ecstasy changed everything for me - it gave me my life back again and in a lot of ways it probably even saved my life.

However being such an old fart now it is almost impossible for me to get in clubs and what not as people just look at me like I'm crazy.

But my advice is to abandon the ati-depressants (although speak to your GP first about this) and just go with the xtc - as it is likely (in my view) to be far more effective than any conventional drug ever could be.

(I mean only with moderate use of course, like once a month maximum).

This is not a very valid statement seeing E pills out there never contain the same proportion of cuts..

Tricyclic antidepressants, which may cause a change and increase in effects, are also not well documented.
http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_info9.shtml

However other sources report a reduction in effects, or that it is possible to feel something, but it is not like normal mdma feelings.

I would say it is somewhat risky.

Well, usually when one speaks of ecstasy they are speaking of what is sold on the street as ecstasy ( a pill supposedly containing mostly methylenedioxymethylamphetamine [ MDMA ] and maybe a little speed ). Sorry if SWIM mistook what you said, if you were speaking purely of Molly.
