SALT SHOT

Does anyone out there know how to administer a salt shot to someone who O.D.'s? I've seen it done in movies, but don't know how. Do you hit a vein ? Do you use regular salt?

"Salt Shot" must be slang for a particular narcotic neutralizing agent.

The only "salt shot" I can think of would be saline drip used to dilute IV meds.

No, I'm talking about actually putting salt in a syringe and shooting an O.D. with it. I know what Narcan is and does, believe me, I've been shot with it, I know and that's not what I'm talking about.

"H" = Alkaloid

Alkaloid = Organic substance of alkaline property

Alkali = soluble salt.

From that I assume a probability that one salt is introduced systemically to either deflect, confound, or otherwise neutralize another salt (heroin).



I've never heard of this "Salt Shot", and I don't do H, so I'm hoping that someone with better brain than mine will read this thread and chime in.

The whole "salt shot" thing is a big urban legend. Really, it doesn't work, and is actually pretty damn bad for you. The only thing that will work for an opiate OD is the aforementioned Narcan. That's it.

salt shot, ice bag, or simply punching your friend in the face untill he wakes up are all equally ineffective. As a former user, I saw many things, few of them pleasant. a heroin OD actually take a few hours to kill you. I understand that you don't want to call ER as that will bring heat, but do you really want to be responsible for someone's life? what if you're wrong about the salt hot

I ussually just give the person a little taste of glass, it's not the best thing too do since there can be some interactions but it'll keep em from passing out.
