hi there
i am taking zoloft for 26 days now and it has not still relieved my anxiety and OCD tendencies. Most of the time I feel like I'm exploding... Is that normal?? The medical info say that the latency period should last from 1 to 3 weeks... I'm a 29 y.o. male and I was diagnosed an anxiety disorder 3 years ago but refused to take pills. Now I'm taking them but they don't make me feel that much better... So I'm really disappointed. Nothing seems to work! I'm taking benzodiazepins now and then but I would like to avoid them, else what's the sense of taking SSRIs?? bye aldo |

Re: ssri latency
hi aldo78.
yes, unfortunately this is normal. in case of depression ssri help faster. relief from anxiety takes longer. OCD is the worst as it might take as long as 2 month for full benefit. sorry to have to tell you that but you still have to wait. but it might give you some hope, that your condition could improve soon if you just have some more patience. |

Re: ssri latency
thank you very much for your reply!...
it may seem strange, but your words relieve my worrying: in fact, if i have just to wait, that is more acceptable that switching from drug to drug without any improvement!! aldo78 |
