Question about Vicodin.

I posted a thread a few days ago about tylenol 3 for pain from a wisdom tooth that was coming in. Today I had it removed, and they prescribed vicodin this time. They're hydrocodone-apap 5-500mg. I'm wondering if it's safe to take 3-4 without doing a cwe. I know I should do a cwe but I don't trust myself and I'm scared of wasting the pills.

So yeah, this is probably a stupid question but like I've stated I have pretty much no experience with opiates or prescription pills. Thanks for any help.

Re: Question about Vicodin.

SWIM has taken 4 10/500 DHC tabs for back pain and has had 4 7.5/350 hydrocodone many times and he suffered no problems, SWIM would say that for most people it shouldnt be a problem. Though it is not recommended SWIY does this regularly.
Performing a successfull CWE is not difficult if one follows the many good procedures outlined in this forum.

Re: Question about Vicodin.

The United States FDA will only allow Doctors in the U.S. to have a patient take 4,000 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen) per 24 hours. SWIM has consumed up to 18 Generic Vicodin tabs (5mg/500mg) and never experienced any problems... however it is very hard on your liver so be careful.

So it is safe to consume 4,000mg of APAP per day... but you need to look at your Opiate tolerance before taking 4+ if you have never done so before. -KWIM?

Re: Question about Vicodin.

SWIM learned that most long term problems from opiate use are the result of the tylenol in hydrocodone, not opiates themselves. Cold water extraction is a must for someone taking lots of vicodin or percocet....anything with tylenol mixed in. Its pretty simply so there really isnt an excuse no to.

Re: Question about Vicodin.

From the rules:

• Use descriptive Topic Subject. This will help others find what they want to read. Topics with bad Topic subjects may be deleted! - there's nothing more annoying than looking at all those stupid "A stupid question" subject lines. I mean, I'm damn lazy, but how hard is it to type "A stupid question about (insert something here)"? As a rule of thumb, most thread titles should include the full name of the drug discussed.

A rule many tend to forget will cause a mass of warnings soon...

I had no idea what this was going to be about based on the title.

How about "Vicoden without CWE - how harmful is it?"

Re: Question about Vicodin.

I don't think I really did anything wrong. It says right in it to put "a stupid question about (insert something here)". I wrote "Question about Vicodin"...seems alright to me?

Sorry if it comes off flaming/w/e...posts like these are in no way meant to be a personal attack, they are simply here to improve the community as a whole.

Read it again?...it is telling you what not to do.

That part just sounded to me like that's what they want you to do. Sorry if I did anything wrong, I'll keep it in mind if I post another topic.

Upon re-reading this I see what you mean, but just FYI I believe the owner of this site wrote that and I do not believe English is his first language. Maybe we can get it reworded. But this is getting off topic now.

Raven is exactly right. Swims friends father takes tons and tons of perc's and vicoden (along with xanax, valium, or any pill he can find) not and has so for decades, he did not know about the tylenol till swim told him a few months ago. He has some MAJOR health issues and probably a liver functioning at around 5%. Im glad swiy even thought about the negatives of their use, too many users dont do this IMHO.

Re: Question about Vicodin.

Yeah, I decided to just do the cwe anyway, I'm in the process right now. I only did it to 3 pills so it's probably kind of worthless, but I figure I'll just take 1 or 2 and drink what I get from the cwe. Thanks for all the help though guys.
