Pain relief for 3rd degree ankle sprain.

Hi! I have a few questions and I would really aprecciate your thoughts. Yesterday afternoon, I fell halfway down the stars (on to a concrete floor no less). I could'nt move so my son was able to get me the phone. Needless to say I wa brought to Urgent Care. Both the Dr and Nurse said that it looked broken; x-rats did not show a fraction, so I was given cruches and a lame pain pils (15 low strenged loratabs) They do not even touch the pain. I also have usin the Rice treatment to now but with to know reliefl

I I am going to all my pCP tomorrow. Is there specl drug I shouldd request? I have also tried Tyenol with codien which did not do the job.

Any info would be greatly apprreciated. TIA!

Just tell them that the pain meds given "lortab" doesn't do anything for your pain. Be honest, and let the doc make the decision, don't ask for something by name.

You may need some physical therapy, such as waterpool-bath and massage. This can help a great deal rather than going down the opiate road. Likely get you up and running much faster than becoming sedentary. Talk to the doctor and see what he suggests as the poster above suggested.

Thanks guys! I go back to the Dr. tomorrow. I am just scared because I still not can bare any weight on the foot PLUS the pain has increased. You are right though; I would rather go through therapy asap as opposed to other alternative (I have an addictive personality which is another concern).
