Re: never been so confused!
From the rules:
• Use descriptive Topic Subject. This will help others find what they want to read. Topics with bad Topic subjects may be deleted! - there's nothing more annoying than looking at all those stupid "A stupid question" subject lines. I mean, I'm damn lazy, but how hard is it to type "A stupid question about (insert something here)"? As a rule of thumb, most thread titles should include the full name of the drug discussed. A rule many tend to forget will cause a mass of warnings soon... I had no idea what this was going to be about based on the title. Look for the words "papaver somniferum". This is the scientific name for the popular opiate containing poppy. Swim thinks the names you list are just different strains of this, but he would not purchase them without seeing those words. Also, if one is using these for what swim thinks they're using it for then they should also be sure to read something like "our poppy pods have not been chemically treated". Swim made the mistake of not looking for these words once and wasted reasonable amount of $$ and time on making cooked opium to get some nasty product .

Re: never been so confused!
yes swim should have thought about the topic subject a little more. my bad. anyways swim read somewhere on here that some poppys are banned, are these the opiate containing ones? he heard that they cannot be sold here in the US. is any of this true. oh yeah swim was already looking for the non chemically treated and found papaver somniferum for 20 cents per pod. swims friend would like to have some of these to decorate his stomach nicely.

Re: never been so confused!
Yes, as long as they are papavar somniferum they will contain opiates. Some are being bred to contain mostly thebaine. Swim would steer clear of those. The strains swiy described should be p. somniferum. Beware of some pods that resemble p. somniferum. Even if it has a crown on top and looks like a p. som. pod, it may be papavar orientalis. These pods contain very low(if any) levels of opiates.
