Re: Benzos/semibenzos versus GHB/GBL

SWIM once upon a time used GHB a few times... before he developed an addiction to opiates, and recalls the most intense nodding from anything. An example, one night 4 people were playing cards (all had dosed with a known dosage of GHB).. So a 4 person card game consisted of one person nodding off completely after making their play and had to be woken up by the time it got to them next. This was GHB in liquid form with a known content per/ml. On another occasion, a test rat acted like everything in his life just all of a sudden made sense... he didn't experience any sedating effect. It was said to have lifted his depression. SWIM wishes he had access to this now that he is older... back then SWIM was young and mostly experimenting with as many different things as he could get his hands on. But to answer your question... from what SWIM remembers it seemed like a lot of people were very fond of this GHB but the side effects tended to be a little stronger from the GHB and SWIM also wagers to bet that GHB would be much much less forgiving than benzos are. SWIM always preached to people that they would definitely be risking death if they mixxed GHB with either alcohol or valium and other benzos.

EDIT: this was Na-GHB btw

Re: Benzos/semibenzos versus GHB/GBL

NA-GBA is heavy, its more euphoric, but swim would prefer benzo and booze any day. Swim has lots of GHB round the house and tried to use it for a replacement recreation to benzo and booze combo to avoid the addiction.
Swim has seen to many people end up on the floor with GHB, and once swim didnt consume too much and was found an hour later by a firend in a convulsing like state slumped in a chair. No matter how less toxic, and more intoxicating it is as a substance, it does not mix well with alot of other things that we use benzos in place with.
Swim has had to promisse his partner that he wont be taking G again since the last time he had to carry him out of a night club.
As for intense noding its more like nearly falling off your chair than a nod.

Re: Benzos/semibenzos versus GHB/GBL

SWIM would take GHB over benzo's any day of the week. Benzo's don't make him euphoric(except for Rohynol), but GHB do make him euphoric, and even a lot more than Rohypnol(flunitrazepam) does. Never out of hundreds of times of taking GHB, did he become comatose, but you mileage may vary, everyone has different body chemistries, SWIM can handle GHB very well, SWIY may not.

Re: Benzos/semibenzos versus GHB/GBL

SWIM would choose GHB over benzodiazepines any day. He's not too fond of either though. He loves the euphoria of GHB, and the hornyness it induces though if no partner is present nearby that feature can be a bit frustrating lol. At one point SWIM prefered it over alcohol for social occasions as it makes SWIM talkative (in a pleasent sense, not the mindless jabbering SWIM finds himself practicing when on meth for instance) and relaxed, it often caused some suspicion though that he went from sober-ish to hammered shortly after a quick stealthy but sloppy redose in the bar's men's room etc. and some times resulted in some risky combos with alcohol to give SWIMs 'drunkness' a little credibility, this was both stupid and dangerous but SWIM survived. In a period he used GHB as a sleeping aid aswell, he liked the quality sleep it induces but disliked having to redose each 3-4 hours and having a hard time finding an efficient knockout dose for the redose. In this period SWIMs tolerance started to build something he hadn't noticed sooner as he had been following some SWIM's advice to have atleast 8 sober hours pr day untill this point. He had found use for it against anxiety, social phobia and depression, and it was wonderful recreationally aswell and seemed to produce no hangovers except for some headaches once in a while which SWIM suspected was because his salt balance was getting messed up from all the natrium intake. So he started dosing somewhere around every two hours 24/7 untill no positive effects were left and he was only fighting of the craving. SWIM discontinued the use sometime after this and only uses it a couple of times pr year now, he doesn't seem to get all of the great initial effects but he still likes the substance.
Benzodiazepines has never been a friend of SWIM on the other hand, he has never liked the effects much of those he has tried, it just makes SWIM feel numb and zombie-fied, and his cognitive capabilities diminishing logarithmically as the dose increases. Diazepam can be ok, if SWIM is sick of the world and just wants some peace, he prefers opioids for this task though. Flunitrazepam, SWIM hates in particular as some of his friends got lost to this substance, became enslaved and never returned the same, as if it sucked out a part of their soul / lifeforce. Sorry for the melodrama but this still makes SWIM rather sad.
It's unfair to judge any substance by the number of people messing themselves up on it though, and in a perfect world with no reckless drugabusers and addictive personalities both GHB and benzo's would be valuable assets. Actually, from writing this SWIM remembered he has a small amount of GHB stashed for a rainy day and will go get reacquainted with this old friend, cheers!

Re: Benzos/semibenzos versus GHB/GBL

Like anything each drug has it's own use or purpose and fits perfectly depending on the situation. For SWIF GHB was always the more euphoric and recreational of the two and definately the more social drug, SWIF would do GHB while out in preferance to alcohol, much more enjoyable. Benzo's were more for hypnotic (sleep) or anti-anxeity purposes. SWIF always had benzo's about in case of problems while tripping on some of the heavier hallucenogens like DPT or DMT, and also for the heavy stimulant nights on amphetamine, cocaine or MDMA to end the night on. SWIF agrees with the above tho, not really any "recreational" value to benzo's for him.

Differant strokes for differant folks tho.
