Re: A bad LSD trip. What to do now? (emergency)
It sounds like it could be a symptom known as depersonalization, which is often coupled with anxiety. As said before, the continual checking in of oneselve's condition can often make the symptom even worse.
Just have him keep a positive attitude and help eliminate the anxiety like you've been doing. Good to hear he's continually feeling better, though. |

Re: A bad LSD trip. What to do now? (emergency)
Someone who has been abusing benzodiazepines, and then takes a major psychedelic, may well be setting themselves up for a big problem. Not insurmountable - but a royal pain in the ass.
Psychedelics magnify the mind. If one has a free-floating anxiety-state from minor withdrawl from a benzodiazepine - the psychedelic will magnify this along with the rest of the psychic material. This makes benzos a double-edged sword for someone considering a trip on a psychedelic. |

Re: A bad LSD trip. What to do now? (emergency)
I agree there, benzodiazepines are only useful in a psychedelic crisis if one hasn't been abusing them.
Benzo withdrawal is unpleasant enough to say the least without having a terrifying LSD to deal with ontop of the dreaded delirium tremens. Having said that they are a very useful tool for non dependent people suffering a bad trip. |

SWIM does realize he is putting himself in a great danger and is playing with his life by doing this as it is really easy to get addicted to benzos. And once addicted, benzos can be the worst drug in the world to get off. Immediate withdrawals can put one in life threatening situations. But I'd definitely agree with you on the point that if someone is a benzo addict, it automatically makes him a depressed person when not on benzos, and doing a psychedelic then can be really scary. Just for the heads up, SWIM's cousin is almost completely fine now. He has totally recovered from a bad trip in exact 8 days. He doesn't need no more alprazolam, SWIM's place doesn't scare him anymore. Infact SWIM and cuz are drinking whiskey at his place right now. A big thanks for helping SWIM out of the situation you guys. You've been really supportive and helpful. |

I'm dancing in joy! I knew it would work itself out. But I love to hear confirmation. A tip of my hat to both of you!

Moral of the story: L.S.D. is an extremely beautiful psychedelic substance. But when not done in a proper setting with a stable mind it can be a bitch. |
