But this is purely theoretical as I am sure you and your friend wouldn't dream of actually attempting anything illegal. Please make sure you read the rules for this forum. |

Re: Complete recipe
swic dreamed of making GHB the other night. He heated the solution for about 15 minutes but the temp wouldn't raise past 120c. The final solution was slightly yellowish.
Did the solution have enough time to complete? Is it suppose to be yellowish? |

I've heard that the temperature rises slowly at first as the water boils off, and it does remain around 120 degrees for a while. Eventually the bubbling subsides as the last of the water boils off and the temperature then rises up to 150 degrees (or higher if you're not careful). During the boiling phase, applying more heat will just make it boil more vigorously; it won't make the temperature rise much more. I've heard that it's often better to leave the hotplate on quite low at this point to avoid spitting and splashing. It could also be that the hotplate is unable to heat beyond 120 degrees, but I would doubt that. You could check this by heating corn oil or a similar cooking oil with a smoke point above 150 degrees. |

Re: Complete recipe
Swic threw out the old batch and decided to try again.
Swic followed mr.g's synth. The solution was still a little yellowish. This time he left the solution on the burner for 30 minutes. The temp did finally climb to 150c. Once the temp was reached, swic maintained the temp for about 5 minutes. Swic let the solution cool. Once cooled the solution turned to a white solid mass. Swic scrapped the white mass from swic's beaker and stored it in the freezer. Swic ate a piece of the white mass about 1.7g First swic tried to swallow it whole. Swic gaged on it and it came back out. Then swic chewed it up and swallowed it with water. It was absolutely disgusting taste. Anyways. Swic got an upset stomach and a slight headache. Swic felt a little body high but not much. No drunk feeling or euphoria. Swic thinks GHB isnt for swic. But to be sure swic will give it one more try in a few day. Swic will eat a light meal prior to dosing. Hopefully with better results. |

Re: Complete recipe
Oh quick question. Swic tried to wash the beaker but the left over white mass would not dissolve easily when rinsed with water. Is GHB powder suppose to dissolve easily like mdma powder?
Thx |

Re: Complete recipe
When MrG's method is finished, you end up with mostly molten sodium GHB at 150 degrees. This is just slightly above the melting point of about 145 degrees.
As it cools below about 140 degrees, I've heard that it starts to solidify. By around 120 degrees it's almost completely solid. It's possible to add hot water at this point to dissolve the GHB (I wouldn't add water until its cooled down to at least 130 or so to avoid splatter). Sodium GHB is soluble, but not incredibly so, and it takes some time to dissolve (esp. if it's in a big solid lump). If your pet is having problems dissolving it, then he could always re-melt it and then dissolve it as it starts to solidify but before it sets like a rock. A common concentration is 1g of sodium GHB in 5ml of water. SWIM has never had any problems with the taste of GHB when it's dissolved in water and then diluted in a glass of water - it's kind of like a weak solution of bicarbonate of soda with a little salt. I suspect that munching on the solid form may be the problem here. |

Re: Complete recipe
A good tip, for those who can be careful, is to add small amounts of boiling water to the molten GBL on the cool-down phase at about 130c. It will stop any solidifying and bring the temp down a bit quicker. Liquid GHB is so much easier to handle than powder anyway. Storage and dosing.
