Re: MRI question
Most of the time a back will show wear and tear of some kind, but if you have no back pain it will be hard to describe something you don't have. If you say your back hurts on the left and right lower area they won't give you an MRI for the simple fact MRI's are saved as a last resort when other methods don't work. That means many sessions of a chiropracter or physical therapy for something you don't have. If those don't work you may or may not get your docter to approve an MRI as these are when you are looking at surgery to correct the problem. So if you made it this far, which I would doubt with no injury, there is a good chance your discs would show some bulging depending on age. The disc wouldn't be touching a nerve, as you have no butt or leg pain, so the disc itself would have to be a pain generator, pain producers from inside the disc from a tear. Some people have these tears with or without pain for some reason but if your's shows one they would assume that's where it was coming from and you would have your meds. So as you can see it is a long process and more than likely wasted time in the end. It took me a year and a half for me and I have a patch and percocet's for break through pain and I have herniations and tears. Before the MRI all's I could get was tramadol and tylenol 3's.
