It may be time to ask you stockbroker to buy you some shares of ENDO Pharmacuticals. Or at least to check them out.


Purdue is the inventor of the time release narcotic analgiesic OxyContin. In Canada 200 40mg tablets sell for about $500cdn. This medication is a Godsend to people with chronic pain. Needless to say that those with chronic pain become opiate tolerant and therefore need more to provide the same results depending on many factors.


Endo has won a lower court ruling (Google it) to be allowed to make a generic version of this very expensive med, (it is being contested by Purdue). While readingEndo's Financials, their torn between making and selling the product,( so that they can be first to market)or waiting for the results of the court challenge, so they don't have to pay patent infringement penalties and royalties to Purdue if its overturned. Oxycodone rescue generic doses are already available without the asperin or tylenol included in Canada. For opiate tolerant people the Tylenol is the Dangerous part particularly if alchohol is also used.


I would recommend that those needing this med watch the proceedings as a generic version would be a boon to those with or without Medical Plans and certainly to the Med Plans themselves.


BTW Hydrocodone has been available generically in Canada for years as a stand alone med.
