crock or not to crock

SWIM asks, some specific questions:

PrOtAgErUs please post this for me, I have been viewing and familiarizing myself with different teks, the Marsofold vs Norman (Dmt for the masses) one has a stage of heating, ie using a crock pot, one doesn't- how vital is this step to yield? Please discuss any pros and cons- I know there are many posts like this but, specifically the heat or no heat question- is it worth it. thank you in advance..-S.W.I.M.
