how does suboxone work if it has naloxone in it
ok, so people with NO opiate tolerance can actually get very high off of suboxone, but how?? the naloxone in the pill is supposed to BLOCK opiates in the body, it seems like they should just..cancel eachother out..? SWIM just got prescribed suboxone and is wondering if there is anyway to like...seperate the buprenorphine from naloxone. because of swim's very high opiate tolerance, he would have to take a lot of bupren. to actually get high and is wondering how he can do that without having the effects of the naloxone. thanks!

Re: how does suboxone work if it has naloxone in it
Take it as prescribed(sublingually) nolaxone does not asborb well sublingually. Then spit after lkike 10 minutes after the bup is fully soaked through under the tongue the blood stream SWIM likes to spit it out because it upsets SWIMS stomach and he doesn't like the thoguht of ingesting nolaxone. SWIM was told by his doc who is very knowledgeable that even if swallowed the spit/disolved mixture won't create enough nolaxone in your stomach to have any effect.
The main reason it's in their is if you shoot it up the Bup will not have effect but the nolaxone will, thus a very unhappy lesson learning. But without tolerance 2mg should do ya pretty good which is only .5mg nolaxone. Thats so little you could prolla bang it and not even feel the nolaxone. Not recommended thuogh,SWIM advises SWIY take like 2mg sublingually and up the dose every hour and a half with 1mg if desired effects aren't reached. |

Re: how does suboxone work if it has naloxone in it
Naloxone was added to Suboxone in an effort to dissuade patients from grinding up the Suboxone tablet and using it as part of a combination of opiates that the user would inject into their body. Intravenously administered Naloxone will block the effects of any opiates and cause the user to go into immediate withdrawal. Oral or sublingual administration affects only the gastronintestinal tract, and has the added benefit of helping to reverse constipation and lowered bowel motility caused by chronic medical use or abuse of a variety of opioids
