Done. I doubt it will sway them in the least, but can't hurt to try.

I've just recently gotten into magic mushrooms, and I love them.
Psilocybin is such a great thing, and I don't see any reason why
mushrooms containing the substance should be banned or outlawed.

It looks like the petition has over 450 signatures already. Hopefully it keeps going!

Does anyone know when this new clause is due to become law?

When should we stock up?

I doubt a petition is going to help. In 2003, we (as the Health Freedom Movement http://www.healthfreedommovement.com/)
arranged a mass march through Central London (which the press did not
even bother to report) and also handed to parliament a petition
containing over 500 000 signatures, to try and stop new EU directives
coming in which would ban over 5000 vitamin and mineral products from
our shops.

The march and petitions did nothing to help and we gained an insight
into the UK's current political climate. The UK has very little
remaining autonomy. Parliament is pretty much a front for the EU. The
EU makes most of Britain's political decisions these days, so petitions
to Parliament are generally useless (http://campaignfortruth.com/CTE/)

There is a new directive on the way, the Herbal Medicines Directive,
due to come into force in a couple of years, which will outlaw any herb
with a 'measurable phisiological response', making it available on
prescription only. A few years after this, amino acids will probably be
banned.

Basically what they are trying to do is to outlaw anything that has a
measurable effects on the body, psychoactive or otherwise, in order to
increase revenue for Big Pharma.

Welcome to the New World.... the one we built with out tax dollars.

Essentially, the best ways to beat the new laws is to flout them. Don't
pay tax because it feeds the very system which oppresses you. Keep
enjoying your vitamins, herbs, and psychoactives.

Well said Neo, but we've go to keep trying, by all means necessary! What's happening with the Herbal Medicines Directive? I've not seen any updates on this for a while, which kinds of scares me('Why have the drums stopped Major, I don't like it...'). Another classic case of Big Pharma's bid for World domination!

^^^ To keep up to date on what's happening reupplements and herbs ban, check out the Alliance for Natural Health.

The first directive, the Herbal Supplements Directive, is up for
hearing at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg on 25th January.
Let's hope they win, 'cos I for one don't want to be having to beg my
doctor for a script just 'cos I fancy some vitamin C tablets.

Anyone know exactly when shrooms are due to become The Devil's Work? Should we be stocking up on them now?

My count is in. I know sometimes it seems hopeless me being just one
person, but well it adds up. Hopefully it'll help for those who don't
want the ban.
