Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
My friend Swim wants to know if there are any over the counter meds which can give pain relief and/or euphoria in the way that an opiate can without risking an overdose?
If not, my friend swim wants to know if there is any way to get unopened prescription meds like morphine pills or vicodin on the street, because as my friend swim is only 19 years old, doctors dont feel comfortable prescribing him these types of meds, even though he really needs them. My friend Swim needs [I]something[I] to help with his pain. All he knows he can get on the street for certain is heroin, but he really doesn't want to resort to that. He can't order anything over the internet either because his parents pay his credit card bill still. Any help is appreciated. |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
Hypothetically, any given area will have black market narcotics of all types depending on who the seeker knows.
Your friend could do a search for "improved flake opium" (without the quotes) and, again hypothetically, find a local source of bulk poppy seeds. Performing the process on several pounds of seeds, while ridiculously tedious, will yield a few grams of smokable opium (essentially morphine). If your friend needs a prescription to legally acquire painkillers, then be warned that the process above will not only get him slapped with a possession charge should he be caught, but will also get him for manufacture. Therefore I suggest your friend goes to a doctor. It will take a long time to gain the doctor's trust and go from OTC painkillers to opiates, but a real doctor will eventually prescribe painkillers for real pain. It just takes time and a doctor that's also willing to go through this process with him. Hope that helps. |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
Hypothetically speaking, what process would one have to go in order to make poppy seeds smokable? And going through pounds of poppy seeds does sound tedious. How long would a few grams of smokable poppy last someone, again, hypothetically? Thanks a lot for your help. if there's already a thread about turning poppy seeds in smokable opium, i apologize.

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
Oh also. Hypothetically, if my friend wanted to buy a bulk amount of poppy seeds, could he just go to a local flower store, or would he have to go to some big flower chain place, or costco, or what? Also, as he is not extremely well off, how much would this cost him, and are there any specific brand or kind of poppy seeds that would give him the best experience smoking? What is the best type/brand/kind of poppy seed to buy, basically?
Thanks so much

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
There's a hyperlink at the top of the page that says "search". I gave search parameters. The information is already in a thread and should be easy enough to find.

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
swim has exacual the same problem, a good painkiller in boots is paramol. swim says good, its actually not that strong but it is the strongest you can get without prescription, swim had to take 4 tablets to feel anything though.
doctors are assholes over here. swim has tried for 3 years to purswade doctors to give stronger painkillers, but its still no. swim is 20 and just gets treated like a child, so swim understands where your coming from. |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
Is getting rid of pain really an issue, or does swiy just want to get high? If getting rid of pain is the main objective, there are over the counter ways to help. Could help more if the type/area of pain was mentioned.
Most doctors will prescribe Tramadol for pain relief. Some people get high on it, and some dont. |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
yeah but tramadol isn't over the counter, right? Pain is actually the issue, though I do enjoy the high that comes with painkillers such as tramadol. I don't take very much so i dont get a great high, but it helps with my stomach pain (there's the type of pain), and it makes me feel warm and relaxed and good. What would u recommed for over the counter pain medication for stomach pain? Is paramol worth trying like bloodred suggested?

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
There could be many reasons for stomach pains, and different types of pain, and I really dont know what will help with what you have. I dont know if Tramadol helps that type of pain either.
And yes, Tramadol is a prescription medication, but not one that doctors have a problem prescribing usually. I would be surprised to hear of one that wont prescribe it at all, unless it just isnt right for the type of pain. Find out exactly what your problem is, and then research it. The net is full of information. |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
There used to be an over the counter pill available at The Medicine Shoppe called Medi-Gesic. They were sued over the name because another company has that name, so they had to stop selling it. I imagine that they changed the name and are selling it as something else now. These used to really help me, but after taking them for a long time they stopped being effective. You could check and see if you have a Medicine Shoppe in your area and ask if they are selling it with a different name now.
Is it possible for you to find a different doctor? Most doctors really dont have a problem prescribing Tramadol. Maybe you can find one that will? |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
sorry to hear about your car accident man. they probably felt okay giving it to you because they knew you'd just been in a car accident, whereas i have stomach discomfort and its harder for them to judge how much pain im in... they kinda just have to rely on my word, and if they've already labelled me as drug seeking then they're not going to care what i say.

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
I just got my primary physician to refer me to a pain management center after like getting the number for him and telling him that my psychiatrist recommended i go to a pain management center, but that they need a referral from my primary physician, and "could u please call them and refer me since they specialize in pain management & thus are more qualified to evaluate my situation as it pertains to pain management than any of the doctors I'm currently
seeing." Quote from the email, except i wrote "you" instead of "u." Anything, that's something for you to try. I also said I already called them, and I also mentioned which pain management center I wanted him to send a referral. be as specific as possible, shows you've put time into it and are very serious about it, and if you bother your doctor enough with long long angry emails (like I've been doing), he or she will probably just be glad to refer you to someone else and get you off their back. I assume I will have better luck at a pain management center where all the doctors their specialize in dealing with pain and dealing out prescriptions, i guess. So, there's something you could try, bloodred Goodluck!Oh and, does anyone have any tips going into my pain management center appointment? Should I just be honest and say im looking for someone to work with me regarding finding the right medication to help with my pain, or should i try to play it somehow... ideas? |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
SWIM is in UK and even when he was suffering chronic back pain his doc would only prescribe Co-Dydromol (dyhydrocodiene) and even that was only 2.5g higher doseage than could be bought OTC (Paramol). Even when SWIMs wife was so bad with back pain she needed an op to semi-cure her they barely prescribed anything more for her. The bottom line is that Docs in UK do not like to prescribe more powerful opiates.
In future SWIM is going to try getting angry with the doctor and see if that is any use. It seems people only take notice when you get annoyed with them here in UK. |

Re: Any way to get relief without prescriptions?
It hastaken SWIM abut 4 years to eventually get pain relief for a back problem that works (in UK).
Initially prescribed NSAIDS, then Didocodeine. Then Tramadol and finally OxyContin. Initially 10mgs but over time onto 20mg tabs, now on 40mg tabs with 10mg OxyNorm (instant release version of OxyContin) for breakthrough pain. Also prescribed Amitriptyline 50mg and Diazepam 5mg for nerve pain and muscle spasms. Docs will eventually pprescribe strong painkillers, but it does take time to go throgh the weaker ones before they will resort to prescribing something decent to take the pain away. rep |
