Swim wonders what would constitute "good experiences" for swiy. Would swiy please elaborate on doses and specific effects swiy enjoyed? Swim has been on prozac for years and, other than many of the clinically reported and expected effects, the only one she has experienced she has not read in the literature is that when swim chooses to consume more alcohol than is ideal for health benefits she has very little hangover effect.

well in swims mind anything positive constitutes "good experiances" swim just feels swim reads alot of negatives about anti depressents and swim is just wondering if there are any swiy who have had any. like no depression, feelin a bit better, anything that would be considered an improvement in swiy life.

swim knows one thing for a while swim was very depressed. swim like other swiy has dealt with sibling suicides divorce and alot of other life bull in his life. so when swim was young swim as placed on anti depressents. swim at age 26 tried to get off celexa and became so so so so so so depressed? after starting effexor swim was not depressed anymore. thats a good experiance.

Re: Anyone with good experiances on SSRI's???

swim thinks maybe swiy's experience is similar to swim's. Swim believes she experienced a situational depression (2 babies born close to each other, divorce, back surgery, father's unexpected death all within a couple of years). Swim found herself unable to function very well and when she found herself crying frequently in front of her small children she choose to take the anti-depressant. Swim defiantly felt better and her frequent crying subsided. Swim wonders how swiy is doing now.

Cool Re: Anyone with good experiances on SSRI's???

sorry to hear about swiy. swim know is not depressed its as if the thought has been wiped out of swims mind. unable to get depressed. but in no means is swims life great or any better. swim just doesn't get depressed to the point were swim wants to give up but thats about it. if swim adds pain killers to his life. anti depressent plus pain killers equal in swim's mind as ther most perfect anti depressent. swim offten wishes that in the coming years that the new age anti depressents will be made with pain killers. for swim pain killers not only serve a great purpose for pain but for depression n anxiety.
is swiy doing well?

Re: Anyone with good experiances on SSRI's???

SWIM's been on multiple SSRIs and has never had a good experience with them. He has not tried Effexor (and doesn't plan to), but it should be noted that Effexor isn't an SSRI. It's an SNRI which also acts on norepinephrine, and that makes it a bit different (and typically more effective) than an SSRI because of a more stimulating effect from what SWIM understands.

Re: Anyone with good experiances on SSRI's???

because the amphetamines were so widly (ab-?)used as they work for depressed and healthy people and are fun, thatīs why there was a need to find something, that cannot be abused and for some they seem to work, itīs just not 80% are fine and 11% bad 9% no effects but 20% are fine, the rest doesnīt matter and thatīs enought to sell and treat all the others with a no-option option. eat or die. *g*

Srteroids work very well for pain and depression, liek eanabolics methandrostenolone and testosteroen improved swims live greatly with an unbreakable circadian sleeping pattern, which he never had his whole live, even on rainy days his soul was pufferd in pink cushins, asnd he encoutered a whole new strength in formaly unkown or hardly recognized feeling to others, like love, desire and relaxedness.

Unfortunately he was incarcerated by lies of his family, cuase he did too well and were probably afraid swim would not forget but sue them for several murder-threads and livelong mistreatment.

Re: Anyone with good experiances on SSRI's???

Treatment with paxil (paroxetine) worked pretty well for SWIM. It really changed his life almost saved it. However his case was closer to social phobia than depression. Inability to socialize led him to depressed feelings but he doesn't think he was depressed in a clinical sense.

Paxil made him extroverted and happy and didn't let problems bother SWIM. However it's not something suitable for long term in my opinion, no more than 6 month to help fighting your demons.

Re: Anyone with good experiances on SSRI's???

SWIM thinks her prozac has been very helpful with her situational depression and social phobia, BUT she really wants to explore her inner mind and use LSD again. But she has learned from DF about SSRIs and other drugs NOT being a good blend. Maybe she can when herself off of prozac and then try to find some LSD. Lots of maybes... Life goes on and we learn and adjust.
