Getting Home After Drinking?
Hey guys. I live in a suburban area where you need to have a car to get around. I've started to sleep at my friends' houses the nights we get drunk, but I'm afraid my parents are going to notice I'm doing this a lot and figure things out. Any creative ways on how to get home or what to tell the parents after a night of drinking? Please help!

Umm maybe you should not be drinking so much, especially if you are getting drunk on many occasions...

I don't get drunk on many occasions...two or three times a month tops, but I haven't really had "sleepovers" since 8th grade so I'm afraid they are going to think this is weird.

I dunno,
I mean cant u behave when ur totally pissed? Just prepare is all i can say. Put a bucket next 2 ur bed. Come home late and dont make noise. Just roll on ur bed and sleep. U can always say u were sick. But whats so bad about drinking? I mean everyones done it. Its part of growing up. Why cant u just tell them? P!MPJU!C3 |

I don't think my parents would be very happy if they knew I drank; in my community it's not a thing that parents know about, we're very secretive about it. My problem is not behaving in front of my parents when I've been drinking because I'm pretty good at that, my problem is physically getting home from a friend's house because I will not drive when I've had anything, even one drink,I'm just too paranoid.

Yeah that's basically what I though, we might have to start having a designated driver. Thanks for your help.

driver, get pulled over, get thrown in the cop car, puke on the cop's shoes, than have em deliver you to the front door with mip in hand, or get busted and have the cops call you rents and have your angry father pick you up, or road trip it, get drunk and stay ina hotel. ahh little brothers |

Gosh...calm down. I didn't know you had to be 18. If you don't want to talk to me because I'm not 18 then don't reply to my topic.

Get a designated driver or friend to drive you .. duh alternate with a
buddy at parties.. if the place is close then just walk home .. a few miles max and that will give u time to sober up |

Seriously by 18 you should have the common sense to designate a driver if you know your going out drinking. Or to simply call a cab. i wouldn't worry toomuch about your parents being mad if they find out your drinking.you'd be surprised, a lot of parents would be happy to know you are smart enought to not try and drive your car home. if they find out your drinking just remember to point out that at least your not on the road drunk. they should be happy that your being safe.

If your almost 18 (18 for safety sake) and don't know how to get home
from a friends legally and safely when drinking then you should probably rethink the whole drinking thing and if interested in other drugs please post these feelings on the forum and get others opinions b4 doing! ohh yeah the people marked with that ADMIN above stars just arent the ones to be sassn' with admin stands for something if your not sure what think about it after you cover the whole drinking thing. does anyone know why the drinking age isn't lowered to 18? (US of coarse) |

The best way my friends and I came up with to work out the "designated driver" problem was to make it a paid gig. Everyone who'se drinking puts $5 in the pot, and the DD gets it in exchange for not drinking. It can be an interesting experience to be the designated non-drinker. It sucks sometimes to not join in the fun, but it also provides a different way of looking at your friends. |
