Side effects - Coughing

SWIM hasn't smoked in ages, and after picking it up again (after finding friends with weed), he's noticed that he coughs alot more.

Anyone know how SWIM can cough less? Would the only solution would be just to take smaller hits?

SWIY's lungs just aren't warmed up. Smaller tokes will help, but just getting your lungs use to smoke again will let you take tokes like a champ. Also staying hydrated will help.

Also I recall reading that THC itself will act as an expectorant so coughing may indicate a lowered tolerance to THC rather than the particulate matter in the smoke.

For anecdotal evidence... my stoner friend says that whenever he coughs before the third or fourth hit he knows that he'll get "****ing ripped" and it only happens to him on really potent stuff.

SWIM's friend says the same thing
but without any empirical evidence SWIM says he cannot believe him for sure

well my pet ferret coughs anytime he smokes out of a gravity (due to the density of smoke per hit and such large hits) alot of times its more then just a cough, and more so choking. gets him pretty blazed quickly tho.
smaller hits can help.

also the quality of green plays a part.
when smoking regs, he will cough more often then if he were smoking mids/highs/crippy/etc.

just take smaller hits, and have like a nice ice cold glass of water on hand while tokin.
dont smoke too fast, dont take too large of hits, and if possible, avoid low grade bud.

thats all swim can think of atm, but if anything else comes to mind, will let swiy know.

Very true, SWIM recommends getting a vaporizer if possible as it seems to be one of the healthiest ways to consume marijuana.

SWIM also saves the crisp burnt buds from the vaporizer and does a THC extraction later on and gets a nice gooey tar that gets SWIM pretty nicely buzzed.

Note: SWIM notices that coughing may occur even with the vaporizer if too dense.

My sloth feels like since he started smoking he hasn't been able to take in larger hits.. at first his lungs seemed to get stronger, but that seemed to fade out.
