Combinations - Carbamazepine LSD interactions

SWIM would like to know what, if any, problems may occur if SWIM is to take LSD whilst taking Carbamazepine??

LSD is SWIMs fave drug, and he has just been placed onto Carbamazepine by his psychiatrist who assures SWIM that there wont be any problems, but SWIM is concerned that the carbamazepine may nullify SWIMs LSD trip..

just to clarify, SWIM doesnt take LSD often at all, only occasionally, but he enjoys it very much and does not want to lose one of the last things that SWIM actually looks forward to and enjoys in life

Carbamazepine isn't an antipsychotic, it's an anti-epileptic, also used for atypical pain (like trigeminal neuralgia) and also sometimes used as a mood stabiliser.

The mechanism of action is completely unknown. So my flamingo can't help you on the question of whether it will affect LSD.

Just out of interest: Did SWIY's psychiatrist counsell them regarding the risk of aplastic anaemia/agranulocytosis with this drug?

SWIM only recieved the script from the psychiatrist several hours before he made that post, and SWIM's mother had been interfering at the session, as she had insisted on visiting the psychiatrist with SWIM today due to recent family problems, so he has not been advised of these risks.SWIM will make sure to mention it at the next session, if SWIJ reccomends SWIM to do so

SWIM has been taking Tegretol for 3 months now and is on a dosage of 600mg/day. SWIM has found even when taking 1 1/2 hits of high quality blotter, only minimal effects are reached. SWIM has not ever had a proper LSD trip before and has attempted 3 times already. SWIM is very disappointed but wonders if there is a natural tolerance to LSD that may be causing the problem?
