Inverse tolerance?

Is possible to have inverse tolerance from marijuana?
(I mean, time after time you need lower dose to achieve same effects)
in the last weeks, SWIM felt sick(headache, nausea...) after smoking cannabis, even from small amounts(and he used to smoke alot in the past) ...and small amounts are more powerful than usual(2-3 weeks ago) and not in a good way
they are almost always the dark side: paranoia, headache, feeling sick...

what's happening? It can be thc accumulation in the body over time?

Or its some kind of inverse tolerance or sensitivization?

thanks
