Cooking cannabutter --differing opinions on extraction time

somebody i know knows somebopdy that makes cannabutter and he boils the bud for 36 hours


but on the internet i see most people say only 20-30 minutes is required

so whats the best time to cook the butter - can the thc degrade if its cooking away for 36 hours like that ?

i actually found my own thread (this one) in a google search asking the same thing, might as well bump it up seeming its unanswered!

ps. the speed at which time passes us scares me deeply. this thread seemed like yesterday
