What does 420 friendly mean? What is 420 friendly definition? 420 friendly can easily be summed up in one sentence. Well…actually a few sentences. Obviously if you know what the number “420” means then you can figure out the rest. The definition of 420 is slang for marijuana. Click here to check out the origin and the definition of 420. Just by saying your “420 friendly” is the same thing as saying “I'm aware and at ease with smoking pot." A majority of people also know it to mean "I smoke weed" If your going to type “420 friendly” expect to search and find other folk who are just like you. People who don’t mind lighting up a joint weather it be for medical or recreational use. It’s also an excellent way to find 420 singles. Men and woman who enjoy the company of equal minded people. Q: Where did the saying '420' come from?

Answer: In 1971 a group of San Rafael High School students used to gather around 4:20pm to smoke pot, so "420" became the slang for signifying the time to light up. It later evolved into a term for potheads or just for the drug itself.

Coincidentally, it was Hitler's birthday. But it is an urban legend that there is any connection.

There are also rumors that 420 was a police code for a marijuana violation, but this is unproven.

SWIM wouldn't agree not everyone knows it depends on where the slang is used which is mostly the USA. For example pot is not called marijuana in Ireland it's called cannabis but SWIM thinks anyone who smokes pot and uses the net knows what 420 but not everyone

Isn't 420, or the 20th of April now national marijuana day? I am sure i was on an MIRC channel when people started saying happy 420 etc, i didn't know what it was about, being from the UK, 420 would be meaningless as a date.

It's also the anniversary of the Columbine Massacre and Adolf Hitler's birthday. Whoever came up with 420 (4/20) was out of their tree and/or didn't study history. Granted the Columbine incident was post the 420 number as Marijuana Day, they should have taken a better look.

Perhaps it should be changed. May I suggest 714? It's also Bastille Day in France.

So it is marijuana day after all? I wasn't entirely sure, and i didn't know it was Hitler's birthday and the date of the Columbine massacre.

Knowing that, yes, the date definitely should be changed, how this could be done, i have no idea.

By the way, how can i stop automatically subscribing to threads i post in? I looked in my Control Panel but i couldn't find out. I don't particularly want an email every time someone posts in a thread i have replied too.

Look more carefully in the control panel. You'll find the right places to click. Just takes a bit of hunting. I've had the same problem! You can do it.

Edited my post above. Columbine was after the 420 date for pot. But not Hitler.

You can also change it so that you don't get an e-mail everytime & still stay susbcribed such that you still see the new posts in your user CP. That way you can see if someone is posting where you posted or more importatnly see whether they are responding to you or asking you a question.
