The best way to turn pills into powder...

SWIM sometimes enjoys turning pills into powder and for the longest time he would use a razor blade or crush one up inside a peice of paper.

But recently SWIM saw someone rubbing a pill against a long metal strip with holes in it. It turned the pill into a nice fluffy pile of powder.

The metal strip turned out to be a hose clamp. Much like the one pictured here in this link. http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thu...ose_clamps.jpg

Take the hose clamp and unravel it. Then using the rougher side just rub a pill of choice along the holes. The long rectangular holes even make the powder a little fluffy making it seem like theres more. (placebo effect ftw!)

SWIM keeps one on his keychain now and uses it everytime he needs to turn a pill into powder.

the hose clamp technique has been used where SWIM lives ever since oxycontins became an epidemic. it is the best way SWIM has seen to powder pills except for the TEVA oxycontins because of the gel anti abuse stuff.

anyone who likes to insufflate pills should invest in one of these babies. great grinder.

SWIM still uses it for the TEVAs, it just takes a little more pressure. SWIM hates them bastards except for the taste. SWIM swears the TEVAs taste better.

I think the best way is with one of those small strainers they sell at the grocery
story Just grind it against the small strainer and you have a pile of powder twice the size you would of had with the old dollar bill/lighter method. It even works better than a pill crusher.

even with immense pressure it turns one whole lump and when chopped SWIM sees nothing but peices not powder. what SWIM does for TEVA oxycontins SWIM has a special but patience needed technique:

step 1 - use a mortar and pestle type device or a twister compartment closer "pill crusher found at CVS" and twist and mush twist and mush. gets to powder and tiny pebbles.

step 2 - get said powder and pebbles into a mound with card/blade

step 3 - chop with a good razor blade slow and hard so the pebbles dont fly off.

step 4 - bring back to mound

repeat step 3 and 4 until SWIY are satisfied but give it a couple minutes of strong calm chopping and SWIM will guarantee on a rep point or 100 of my post count!

OR! shit SWIM will mail a SWIMMER a Sega Dreamcast complete with controller and hug that you will be more satisfied and most times SWIY nose will not be clogged.

My ghost pet orangutan told me that the newer ones (with the checkmark) seem "harder".

SWIM has never had a problem grinding TEVAs against his little hose clamps. It still yeilds powder for SWIM. Until about the end of the pill and then it just crumbles way too much.

And about the NORCOs, SWIM imagines it would work well for just about any pill. Just give it a try. SWIY has nothing to lose except a dollar or two for the clamp and then about 5 minutes lost finding out it doesnt work. But SWIM thinks it will.

wait a second. How can SWIM get a dreamcast? SWIM misses his old dreamcast dearly. It was heisted along with 120 NES games he collected over the years. Alot of them were in the original boxes. :*(

SWIM has tried just about every way he can think of and will never go back to anything but this.

two spoons like other ways of turning pills into powder crushes it and often sends small chunks flying.

also this requires >two< clean spoons instead of >one< hose clamp. SWIM doesnt always have 2 clean spoons. SWIM always has a clean and straightened hose clamp.

Also those who do use a clamp can attest that when ground up by a hose clamp the powder is light and "fluffy". Thats why SWIM calls em "fluffers".

why do people want to make pills into powder, is it a better way of taking them? or does it actually effect anything?

Almost always, pills are turned into powder for snorting. However, eating powder can bring the effects on quicker and harder than eating pills whole, if taken on a full stomach. Dissolving the powder in water is one way of taking it, and another way is to wrap the powder in a small piece of one-ply toilet paper. This is known as "parachuting". A word to the wise: parachutes float in water, so angle the head accordingly when swallowing.
