Codeine vs caffeine

First I want to say that Im pretty impresed with this forum. Im here for a quite a time, but never posted before. I the time for posting has come.
And second I whant to aplogise for a bad english

Ok, and now the question

My friend, I xill call him Swim has in posetion [i]Caffebol[/b] tablets which contains 460mg of Paracetamol, 10mg of Codeine, and 50mg of Caffeine, and he planned a CWE. But he is worried about caffein. If he decide to take 100mg of codeine there would be 500mg of Caffeine( If I understood corectly he cant rid of caffenine with CWE) Is that a large amount, and will it kill a Codeine buzz?
If yes, is there a way to extact the Codeine from Caffein?

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

Hola friend!

Caffeine doesn't ruin a codeine high but it does make it much less pleasant, at least that's Swim's opinion. There are ways to remove caffeine but they are not at all straight forward. Use a search engine and you should be able to find a method to do so though.

Play safe

UTFSE - Use The Forum Search Engine. I swear I've seen a method posted here on DF before. If it's there it will save you time.

Also, Caffeine may not ruin one's Codeine experience, but it could possibly remove the euphoric sedative effects of the experience, thus removing most of the reason one would experiment with Opiates/Opioids!

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

SWIM feels that caffiene actually enhances an opiate buzz - hey, we're all different. Everytime he indulges in hydrocodone (his fav, which he is VERRRRRY experienced with) he always buys energy drinks which contain roughly 320mg of caffiene (Triple-size Diet Rockstar). If you are a caffiene user, then it shouldn't be a big deal, but many people are caffiene sensetive, so you may want to test you "coffee tolerance" before you do a huge CWE.

I seriously hope SWIY is not taking 320mg of Caffeine at once. That's more than enough to make him feel very ill.

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

And at this point I'd like to remind everyone that Caffeine (even when used on its own) can be dangerous in high doses.

Look at this as an example: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/2225845.stm

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

Yes, SWIM does take caffiene in those doses. Its quite common in American society, as energy drinks are VERY popular. The smaller ones contain 160-180, and the larger ones can contain 320-360. As I worked at a Starbucks Coffee, I know that the Venti (large) size black coffee contains almost 500mg of caffiene. And yes, SWIM knows that caffiene in large amounts is dangerous, and also knows people that hate energy drinks. However, SWIM is not one of those people, he enjoys them and has a massive caffiene tolerance, so there is no negative side effects.

Swim would also like to point out that the article you posted stated that there was 150mg of caffiene per 150ml of blood. Assuming he's an average male, thats 4,650 in his blood stream. Please also note that this is post mortum, and doesn't account for 1. the metabolism of caffiene, or 2. the bioavailability of caffiene. Needless to say, the unfortunate young man took well more than 320mg of caffiene.

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

actually, if you use the usual 4.5 liters of blood a adult man has and that the report talks about 150mg caffeine in 100ml blood, that's about 6750 mg caffeine, which is not even that high. 5 grams is the lower end of LD50, so that guy didn't have a particulary high tolerance to caffeine; additionally, such amounts can't be achieved with coffee or energy drinks without vomiting (usually).

320mg caffeine is not that high for a person with tolerance. however, SWIM did feel majorly ill with 800mg. very high doses actually don't differ much from amphetamines in the feeling.

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

Caffeine is in my opinion the poor mans meth. I gave up caffeine because of this reason, and I hate when people don't view it as an addictive stimulant drug. Also SWIM thinks caffeine ruins an opiate buzz completely.

Re: Codeine vs caffeine

Matt,
Many people do feel that it ruins the buzz. However, SWIM, being a hardcore caffeine addict, CRAVES it when he is under the influence of opiates.
