Swim was listening to the radio today when he heard that Tool would be coming to his town. On entirety the he his last trip he listened to Tool and it took him everywhere. so swim is wondering has swiy been to a tool concert while tripping and/or listened to them while tripping and had the same effect as swim?


Swim imagines their show to be filled with an amazing light show combined with the great music.

the king of egypt experienced a tool concert on 13mg 2ci (low dose because he was driving, i know i know, dont flame the king)...anyways


During the show he could notice being a big off baseline and a little stimulated...he thought the music was awesome and the visuals kicked ass with the light show and the pearly white stage and the 4 huges screen behind the band.

on the way driving back he the king noticed the effects alot more with predictable persian carpeting type visuals.

The pharoph thinks Tool is awesome to listen to during triping, particularly the Salival CD...

The pharoph said the concert was awesome despite the little effects and that it would have been that way if he had not taking anything at all. He wishes he could have taken more but knew he had to drive so this was not an option.

The pharoph thinks that psychedelics+tool concert could be a good comination if one was with ppl that he trusted and could drive and act as a sitter/w/e.

Even if one isn't at a concert this combination is great, particularly the salivald cd as the pharoph mentioned.

swim does know his dose/source. Right now all he has been getting is real cid. swim thinks its @ least 100 ug.


Tool is such a great band, even while sober...




Swim has heard that the eye in the background is usually behind the band.


The sober friend is for the driving, either that or a limo.

ahh yes the eye....about a week after the concert swim went to he tripped on 35mg psilocin and had a few nitrous along with it. For about 1.5 hours during the peak he saw the eye everywhere! He would see it moving along the floor and climbing up all over the walls and the ceiling, there were tons of them moving in patters switching colors between greens and reds and blues. If he followed this along the floor up to his foot they would start crawling up his body and skin. Swim thought it was pretty cool.

Swim really likes shrooms. The visuals are usually moderate. Just puts him in a great state of mind.

Swim doesn't understand how people can compare them (shrooms to LSD) they are both amazing psychedelics in their own right.

This is not too off topic and since you are showing people that are probably fans of tool (if they are looking at this thread) multimedia about something they like/enjoy there is really not much harm.

But the only thing we would ask that you do is add the video to the archive and link that addition here.

Here is some info I have compiled about the process:

If you have a video that looks like it should be added to drugs-forum, it should be added to the archive, I have outlined the procedure:

Search for it useing the search for files, videos button in the search thing here If it is not already there..go to quick links add video here...

For the title, I usually just use youtubes unless it sucks and is indescriptive

Be sure to put down the length of the video, and a reasonable (can be short) description in the description part. Again sometimes I can use the description from youtube, but this is only about half the time or less.

Adding keywords can be helpful, again a lot of times i use youtubes unless they are not very descriptive.

Also adding a thumbnail is definatetly a must if possible (I do this by finding a "pic" of the video right clicking and going to properties then copying the url for the pic and this can be added too)...doing these things can save lostgurl a lot of trouble, and the addition of a thumbnail can help other users search the archives to see if a particular video they want to add is already their.

Also be sure to add the url...youtube has a specific URL you need to copy, it is to the right of the video...do not copy it from you explorers URL pointer, as I do not think this will work or may be only a temporary URL.

The very last thing is the Category:

This is easy if you have audio/video.

I just click in where you choose the category and press "M" for multimedia, this is where you need to be, there are only 10 or so categories so finding yours should not be hard and there is a specific one for music videos. Sometimes for the drug videos their is no clear forum...so if it is more documentarily related he'll put it in drug documentaries and if not he'll just put the main category "videos about drugs". In addition I will other file archive forums to the video if it is directly related to a category in the archive (a specific drug or addiction or synthesis of a particular drug), this can be done by holding control and clicking on all the forums you wish to add it to. This will then get sent off to a mod for approval, if it is not already in the forum it will be added and a discussion thread will be made for your post. If it is good then it will stir up discussion and should earn you rep.

You can simply use google, wikipedia, erowid, etc. to compile an article on the topic of choice. If you have books on drugs they will help as well. An article can be small or extensive. The more info it contains, the more positive ratings you will recieve. You can also just find a question posted and research the answer.

There will surely be things I have forgotten here. Feel free to post additions, questions and remarks.

Tool is one of my cat's must-haves for tripping...she didn't get to do that at their show but can't imagine it being anything less than amazing

SWIM went to see Tool last year. He said he and his wife had a fat bag of shrooms and didn't know if they should eat them b4 the show as they didn't know how to get around in that particular city. After much deliberation, they decided against it. By the end of the night, they were kinda glad as they said "You would have had to peel us off the ceiling." The visuals that were projected on the stage (yes, on the stage floor, there is a short screen behind the band but the majority of the projection is shot at the stage floor, the sat up high off to the side of the stage and were lucky enough to see the whole thing) were enough to honestly feel like they were tripping.However they ate them when the finally found their way back to their hotel room and had a great time.

This PWIM says he listens to them every time he tripps and they have shown him unimaginable galaxies. He thinks they are geniuses and true artist in a drought of real art.

SWIM took two hits at a Tool Concert. It was probably one of the best experiences in her life. Also she had a group of friends and two sitters with her, every thing felt safe and magnificent.

SWIM has been at a TOOL concert twice on LSD, once on the Lateralus tour and once hmm well before 10.000 days was released. At the first one their was no light on stage for most of the set, only a big screen showing real trippy stuff with Maynard making akward movements in front of it. This was an awesome experience on a fairly strong dose of LSD. The other concert was more regular with lights on stage and mushpits in the crowds, SWIM is not a big fan of mushpits and confined spaces when tripping so he enjoyed this one a bit from the distance most of the set, still their sound was absolutely fantastic. And Jebus if there is a band where the music, lyrics, visuals and artwork calls for tripping TOOL must be it, I would have killed to have heard them on their tour with the mighty King Crimson though.

I went to their show at the united center, or allstate or whichever one it is in chicago last year, fucking amazing show and YES take lsd!!! SWIM wishes he had been into 'cid back then/could get a hold of it for that show, the lasers, the music, the incredible screens onstage and behind ughhh I want them to come back on tour!!!

SWIM saw TOOL on LSD and loved it, they had a great audio video combination, Maynard sounds just as good live as on record and really has one of the best voices in rock. Danny's drumming was hypnotic as it comes and overall the vibe was great!

SWIM told me to say he highly suggest your idea especially if you have a sober driver! No reason to have a great concert then have to drive and risk anything bad.

A lot of Maynard's lyrics involve drugs, 'Stinkfist' is one of my favorite tunes dealing with addiction. Most of the lyrics on the Lateralus album could very well be psychedelics fueled insights beyond life-death duality etc. Also as a sidenote ketamine is mentioned in the cover notes of Ænima.

That's one interpretation of Stinkfist. I always thought it was about mass desensitisation of society.

I'm not sure how much of a drug user Maynard is/has been, though. Case in point:

The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug."

Ahahaha, that picture carries many good memories for SWIM, Ozz. Since it's utilized in perhaps the most captivating DVD menu ever made. And speaking of that (wonderful) DVD, SWIM believes that Tool music videos were created for people on LSD and similar substances. The latest 3 most of all.

I've never had a chance to see the band live. But I've always heard them to be a blast, tripping or not. Some day, some day.

If the chance ever arises, FUCKING SEE THEM! Even if you have to drive 3 hours, do it, you will not regret seeing tool live, fucking awesome.
