Anyone made a simple brew that didn't taste like gloopshudder?

OK, so you can extract mescaline from cactus, but what about simple brews in water? Most experience seems to be that the challenge of necking the gloop and nausea make it relatively unappealing compared with a pure(r) extract.

Has anySWIY cooked up a brew that was relatively easy going taste wise? I heard of one recipe involving cooking/ storing for a relatively long time that reputedly resulted in a smoothie which was not too unpleasant but fairly effective.
