Ok guys I love to hear a great story. I'm pulling up a chair by the campfire in this thread, and letting you guys tell some famous drug stories. And by 'famous drug stories' I mean, either a story about a famous person using drugs OR just a famous story about drug use that didn't particularly have to happen to a famous person!

I am interested to see how this thread will turn out! Hopefully some Happy Mondays stories

I don't know about stories, but if you want to see a good film about drugs, guns and money, I suggest the critically acclaimed City of God.

I watched it today and it was absolutely amazing, most of the actors in the film had never acted before, and actually lived in the favelas of Rio De Janiero. They just attended acting workshops for a few weeks before filming took place.

I think it's going to be either/or. Either famous people OR drugs if I am to preserve the tradition of SWIM.

so I have one of each for you:

I kind of think that the expression "420" may have come from the international exchange rate. I guess this is a theory more than a story, but if you take a metric number and convert it to a standard one, it looks almost exactly like this:

44lbs=20 kilos

420 means to join in together? and so it makes sense that way too.

One time I went to Neil Young's house. not really to his house, to his studio on his homestead. I wasn't his friend or to a party or such. I was there with a boyfriend who was painting propane tanks. We went all over his place and painted tanks. he had one at the shop for model trains. and one at the climate controlled warehouse of nice cars. and he had one at his studio. there was no propane tank in the studio, but there was one outside and while he was painting it, I said had to use the bathroom and so I guess he asked someone or whatever because I got to go in. I saw a big room and that room was the one that is photographed with a fisheye lense and portrayed on one of his album covers. I walked past that room and to a bathroom. and in his bathroom on the wall were all of his gold records.

Didn't "420" start by a bunch of californian kids who would come home after school and blaze up at 4:20pm every afternoon?

Cool story but it has nothing to do with drugs.

and re the 420>> the story about the cali kids was supposedly a band in Arcadia that used the term because the police code for suspected toking was 420. I've also heard it said that someone looked up the codes in that area and 420 ain't it (or wasn't it when they looked). I've also heard other stories just as plausible. My story is pretty plausible too but the truth is, if it was real, then I imagine some old school person would have said something by now.

Famous stories are fun. They are big.

Here a famous tale about a drug with a little name dropping:

The lotus is one of Buddhism's most significant symbols. It is a symbol of enlightenment and mental purity. The lotus has its roots in mud but blossoms into a beautiful flower. Similarly, though an individual may be mired, there is the potential to gain enlightenment and the perfect state.

An open blossom signifies full enlightenment; a closed blossom signifies the potential for enlightenment.

Some think the entire world was born from it's center. kind of like the way that the universe may be blooming things out from the center.

The Egyptian dudes like King Tut and Cleopatra had lotus flowers all around, like engravings that show people putting the flower in their wine cups. The flowers were thought to be the birthplace of The Sun God. The flowers raise out of the water. and then bloom in the mornings. and then close as the sun starts to decline. They even have yellow centers surrounded by blue and white, just as the sun appears from earth.

Always the flowers went away with the night, but always they opened again the next day. They had power over death. There is a part in the Book of The Dead with words that may allow the deceased to come back to life as a blue lotus flower.

Here's a story:

Jimi Hendrix used to empty out some tobacco out of a cigarette and put tiny balls of hash before putting the tobacco back in. Using that method he would toke up in various public places unseen. Once he even smoke a hash cigarette while talking to a cop!

Also, when Syd Barrett (founder of pink floyd) got really fucked up on LSD, he used to spend concerts only staring into space, strumming a couple of chords or randomly detuning his guitar.

Here's a story for you guys:

The guy who is in the nut house now because he thinks he is a glass of orange juice. I shit you not, after a bad acid trip, he literally THINKS he is a glass of orange juice. If he goes to sleep he will tip over.

And his friend who took the same dose of acid thought he was an orange. He tried to peel himself with a razor and died from loss of blood. RIP orange-man
